Meghan Markle, Prince Harry, and The Royal Family Are Working Through Their Tensions Source Claims
It’s no secret that there has been some tension between the Sussexes and the rest of the British royal family. Meghan, Duchess of Sussex and Prince Harry did their best to uphold the standards and duties of senior working royals. Unfortunately, due to her heritage and background, the Duchess of Sussex was never accepted by the British press or public.
Since the royal family is extremely traditional. No one, aside from Prince Harry publically came to Meghan’s defense about the bullying and harassment that she was enduring from the public and press. It all got to be too much and in January 2020, the Sussexes revealed their intent to resign as senior working royals. They will become financially independent, splitting their time between the U.K. and North America.
As of April 1, the Sussexes will no longer be working royals. However, sources claim that they working hard to ease the tensions between themselves and the royals.
Things have been tense between Prince Harry and Prince William for some time
Prince Harry has spoken openly about how different he and Prince William view the world. However, he also reiterated that they would always be brothers. During the Sussexes final royal engagement, Commonwealth Day on March 9, the brothers barely spoke.
According to Royal commentator Camilla Tominey, the Daily Telegraph’s lip-reader gave the lowdown on the brothers’ conversation. Prince Harry’s full quote which he is claimed to have said to Meghan was, “He literally said: ‘Hello, Harry’ and that was it and he didn’t say anything more than that.”
It looks like Prince William is still miffed by the way Megxit went down. Meanwhile, Prince Harry is reportedly hurt about the treatment that Meghan received from the royals.
Meghan Markle wants Prince Harry to remain close to his family
Though she talked openly about struggling in the spotlight and facing the harsh criticisms from the press and public, Meghan does not want Megxit to distance Prince Harry from his family.
“Meghan wants Harry to remain close to his family,” a source told Hollywood Life. “There’s no question about that. It’s been a tough time but at the end of the day he still loves his family and that won’t change and hasn’t changed. He has always been close to his grandmother and he very much wants her to have time with Archie, he loves seeing them together. It was sad they couldn’t bring Archie over on their trip but it was the sensible choice and everyone understood. They do want to go back as soon as they can to remedy that though.”
The Sussexes are working through their tension with the British royal family
Though the Sussexes nor the British royal family have commented on their relationships with one another, amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and Prince Charles’ diagnosis, it appears that they are trying to ease tensions.
“Things are in a better space now between the couple and the royal family,” an insider told Entertainment Tonight. “While of course there have been tensions, the family is getting through it.”
Meghan and Prince Harry are hoping to reconnect with the royals this summer. “Harry and Meghan are believed to have accepted the Queen’s invitation to visit her this summer at Balmoral, her Scottish retreat, and are planning to take their son with them,” The Sunday Times reported. “The Queen would love to see more of Archie, as would Prince Charles and the rest of the family.”
