Meghan Markle ‘Pushed Harry’s Friends Out,’ Former Celebrity Pal Claims
There’s no shortage of criticism hurled at Meghan Markle and this newest bit of gossip paints her yet again in a less than desirable light. A former friend, TV personality Lizzie Cundy, claims that Markle has “pushed Harry’s friends out” since marrying the prince.
Markle is ‘ruling the roost’
Cundy shared her supposed insider information on talkRADIO, explaining that Markle is taking over and Harry’s friends are falling by the wayside. She noted: “One thing I have heard — because I’m friends with a lot of Harry’s friends, one is a very close friend — is that she has pushed them all out.”
Cundy added: “She’s ruling the roost,” explaining, “This friend, I won’t name him, he had Harry on his shoulders in Las Vegas when he got into that trouble. He was a really good, solid friend — covered for him, everything — he has been elbowed right out.”
Is Markle to blame for Harry losing touch with friends?
It’s unclear if Markle is the reason that Prince Harry hasn’t connected with his friends as much. After all, he’s definitely had some big changes in his life with getting married and welcoming a son, so it’s only natural that he might not have as much social time on his hands.
It’s less about Markle running the show and taking control, but that hasn’t stopped the rumor mill from churning out stories. Royal sources had claimed that Markle had Prince Harry limit contact with friends because of their “unsettling influence,” specifically his childhood friend Tom “Skippy” Inskip, who met Prince Harry when they attended Eton College in 1998.
Tatler magazine reported earlier this year that Markle took issue with Inskip because he didn’t want Harry to marry her. The article noted: “Hang out with the Clooney/Beckham/Soho House set and be assailed for being too Hollywood, for forcing your hen-pecked husband to abandon his old, country-set muckers — including Tom ‘Skippy’ Inskip, the ultra-loyal, tight-lipped Harry pal, who, it’s said advised Harry not to marry Meghan and has paid the price: banishment.”
A source close to the couple explained to The Sun: “But the real reason Tom was made no longer welcome by Meghan is that she had learned he had dared to question Harry over whether he really felt he was doing the right thing in marrying her.”
Prince Harry and Skippy reconnected
The insider added: “All the poor guy did, during a heart to heart with the prince, was to venture that Harry might be infatuated, more in lust than love, and maybe he might think about cooling things down before rushing into a proposal.”
Prince Harry reportedly called his old friend when Archie was born on May 6 with insiders noting that Skippy was “genuinely happy” for the couple and “delighted” that Harry shared the happy news.
A royal source noted: “One of the first of his old chums with whom Harry wanted to share the great news was Skippy, who is just happy to be back in the fold. Tom is genuinely happy that he was proved wrong about Meghan — because he, like everyone else, can see that they are absolutely devoted to each other.”
