Meghan Markle Shares Her Favorite Workout: What Is Ritual Fitness Class?
Meghan Markle has revealed her favorite workout and it might surprise some fans. It’s yoga, but oh so much more. It’s called Ritual exercise class and it combines different exercise styles, described as “transforming, challenging and enlightening.”
Markle stays in shape with a combination exercise class
Among the many things about Markle that her fans are curious about is her fitness routine. While yoga has been her go-to exercise, she revealed in her guest-edited issue of British Vogue magazine that her favorite class is a mash-up that includes “elements of yoga, Pilates, and barre.”
The Ritual class is offered at London-based Heartcore and combines cardio with toning in a “high-energy, cardio-based mat workout” format.
Markle noted in her guest editor’s letter that the issue’s beauty section “puts its energy towards internal beauty, celebrating the power of breathing and meditation, and [includes] a favourite workout that urges you to use your heart as much as your core.”
What is the Ritual exercise class?
The Heartcore classes offered include Ritual, with the site describing: “Stretch your limits and open yourself up to change with our unique remix of Pilates, Yoga and Cardio. Energetic and invigorating, our classes are designed to strengthen, lengthen and tone you from the inside out. Through a continuous flow of movements, sequenced to improve your flexibility and core strength, we revitalise key postural muscles and bring a strong, powerful focus to your whole and balanced body.”
Specifically, the fitness studio shares the following about the Ritual class: “Every element of this class is designed with the intention to open and strengthen our hearts. The natural scent of pine, mint and lemon in Palo Santo, a sacred wood, is energy cleansing, uplifting and calming. It sets the stage alongside immersive tunes for a powerful dynamic flow, where we build a strong beat to our hearts with well-deserved moments for reflection and growth. Remixing Pilates, Yoga and Barre this dynamic heart and core-focused workout defines physical and mindful transformation, there’s a reason it’s called ‘Ritual’!”
For those who schedule the Ritual session, they’ll find even more details, as the studio notes the “energetic, powerful mat-based workout experience” is “built on the principles of the physical and mindful benefits of Pilates, Yoga and Barre.” It includes “a dynamic flow of toning and conditioning moves” and “inspires endless spiritual muscle growth building awareness, resilience and renewed strength.” It’s also worth noting that it’s a “transforming, challenging and enlightening” session that will “quickly take you beyond your believed physical and mental limitations.”
Markle is a yoga fan
Markle has remarked in the past how much she enjoys yoga, telling Best Health: “Yoga is my thing. There are so many benefits that come with the practice of yoga… increased flexibility and muscle strength, greater happiness, increased mental focus, a greater ability to relax, decreased anxiety and better sleep.”
Since giving birth to baby Archie, Markle has returned to her yoga practice, as royal expert Katie Nicholl shared with ET: “She has been taking it easy. And I hear that yoga is very much on her post-birth fitness regime, nothing too strenuous.”
