Meghan Markle Has Her Own Social Media Hashtag — And She’s Not Going to Like It
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been married for less than a year. And the couple has seen their share of drama from the media and the public. Ever since the two got married, some people have seemed to take issue with Meghan. People have even started using a Twitter hashtag — and the Duchess of Sussex definitely wouldn’t approve.
Meghan and Harry got married in May 2018
Meghan and Harry have had a very quick romance. The two were introduced by a mutual friend in London back in 2016, and they instantly hit it off. They continued to see each other and had such a strong connection that they were ready to get married in less than a year and a half. Harry proposed to Meghan in November 2017, and they planned a wedding in six months. In May 2018, they tied the knot, and only about two months later, Meghan was pregnant. The couple announced in October 2018 that they’d be expecting a baby at the end of this month.
Since the couple wed, there have been countless rumors about Meghan
While people appeared to adore Meghan when she and Harry were dating, once the two got married, the public’s views began to change. The press constantly reported different rumors about Meghan, including that she and fellow duchess Kate Middleton didn’t get along. There were also reports that Meghan was rude to her staff, which caused a lot of them to quit. All of the rumors caused the public to question Meghan’s character, and though plenty still love her, some have developed strong feelings of negativity toward her.
Social media users have even started using a ‘#megxit’ hashtag to express distaste toward the duchess
Those that truly can’t stand Meghan have taken to social media to troll her. And they’ve developed a new hashtag while doing it. “#megxit” has become a popular way for trolls to put all of their tweets and posts in one place. These days, social media is a breeding ground for bullying, and celebrities are often at the center of negative comments, photos, and more. While most celebrities, including Meghan, simply write them off, the public tends to take notice, which is exactly what the trolls want. “Megxit” is a take on “Brexit,” which is the term given to the Great Britain’s process of leaving the European Union.
Some people are now claiming Meghan is faking her pregnancy
As if the negativity of the hashtag wasn’t enough, people have gone so far as to say that Meghan is actually faking her pregnancy. Some Internet trolls believe she has been using a prosthetic bump to hide that she isn’t actually pregnant. Then, the couple will supposedly go to the hospital and get a surrogate baby. While some might believe this, there is a very slim chance it’s actually true. Meghan has said countless times how much she’s looking forward to motherhood, and it’s highly unlikely she wouldn’t carry her own baby. If there were a medical reason as to why, she’d likely tell the public. People simply love to hate on those who appear to live happy lives.
