Revealed: Meghan Markle Takes This Trendy Supplement to Manage Her Stress

To keep on top of her stress, Meghan Markle has devised a strict wellness routine that includes regular workouts, eating clean, no caffeine, and some supplements to help ward off stressors (or at least manage them better). Here are some of the Duchess of Sussex’s go-to tools for keeping it together in her fast-paced, highly publicized royal life.
She practices yoga every day
It’s no secret that the Duchess of Sussex loves yoga. As the daughter of a yoga instructor, Her Royal Highness was influenced by the practice from a young age. However, she didn’t get serious about it until she was a little older and in college.
“Yoga is my thing. My mom is a yoga instructor and I started doing mommy-and-me yoga with her when I was seven,” she told Best Health back in 2016. “I was very resistant as a kid, but she said ‘Flower, [Meghan Markle’s nickname] you will find your practice — just give it time.’ In college, I started doing it more regularly.” she added.
According to reports, the Duchess of Sussex will wake up as early as 4:30 a.m. to get some yoga in. She also has an in-home yoga studio in her new country home, Frogmore Cottage, where she and Prince Harry will raise Baby Sussex.
She eats clean
Another way Meghan Markle manages stress? By eating a clean, healthy diet. When it comes to stress, diet can make or break you. So, instead of indulging all the time, she tries to stick to a strict, clean diet that energizes her and keeps inflammation at bay.
She avoids caffeine
In addition to eating clean, the Duchess of Sussex also avoids caffeine as much as possible. “I think trying to go for coffee or things like that only end up hurting you in the end,” she once told Shape. “[Green Juice] is a really good natural source of energy … that gets right into your system as a nice pick-me-up,” she added.
For Meghan Markle, green juice is a “food-as-medicine philosophy,” according to an interview with Delish. She prefers a glass of blended green juice over a late-afternoon cup of coffee for its energizing, yet caffeine-free benefits.
She takes supplements
Eating healthy, working out, and opting for green juice over caffeinated coffee are some of the ways the Duchess of Sussex manages her stress. But, she also turns to supplements. Meghan Markle’s supplements consist of magnesium, B-12 drops, and a multivitamin. However, she also takes a cortisol manager, as well as ashwagandha to help manage her stress.
Ashwagandha is an herbal supplement classified as an adaptogen. Adaptogens have gained quite a bit of attention recently as they are known for naturally impacting the body’s ability to manage stress. Taking ashwagandha can help reduce cortisol levels, blood sugar levels, stress, and might even help with anxiety and depression symptoms.
