Meghan Markle Wants to Do the Same Brave Thing Princess Diana Wanted to Do

When Meghan Markle married Prince Harry and officially became the Duchess of Sussex, it had been the first time in years that an American had joined the royal family.

As a former actress, Meghan said in her engagement interview that before beginning her relationship with Harry, she didn’t fully grasp what the British royal family was all about. It is true that Meghan’s life has changed drastically over the past few years.

She went from having complete freedom to being one of the most famous women in the world, constantly being photographed, and having millions of people look up to her and watch what she does.

Not one who is known for letting people tell her what to do, Meghan is notorious for putting her own twist on royal life. In fact, the new duchess has broken the rules and protocol set forth by the queen on more than one occasion. So, what is the brave thing that Princess Diana wanted to do that Meghan also wishes to accomplish?

Although Diana sadly passed away long before Meghan ever became a royal, Prince Harry is still pretty certain that the two of them would have been close.

Although they never crossed paths, Meghan has some of the same qualities as Diana, and that is just one of the many reasons as to why everyone loves her so much. Just like her late mother-in-law, Meghan is compassionate, caring, and giving.

She is also a humanitarian and strongly believes in charity work, two things that were extremely important in Diana’s life.

Diana was a different type of royal

The royals are known for being as formal as possible and doing things a certain way. When Princess Diana married into the family, International Business Times reports that she was adamant about changing the monarchy, not having to adapt to the way of life.

She never flaunted her royal status, instead, she used it to try and make the world a better place. Diana wanted her two young sons, William and Harry, to grow up knowing what it meant to have a “typical” life. It is for this reason that she had them do things such as volunteer at homeless shelters and even stand in line to purchase a fast food meal.

According to Good Housekeeping, Princess Diana and her son’s could, on occasion, be seen traveling around London on the subway. That’s about as normal as it gets.

What is the brave thing that Meghan wants to do that Princess Diana also wanted?

It is not only a love for other people that Meghan and Diana share. What is it, all these years later, that Meghan would like to do that Harry’s mother also wanted? She wants to change, not adapt, just like Diana. In addition, she wants a sense of “normalcy” for baby Archie as he grows up.

Now that Meghan and Harry are parents, they are looking at royal life in a new way. They realize, that as high-profile people, they will always be living life in the spotlight, and they want to give Archie the opportunity to decide if that is what he would like as well.

According to Vanity Fair, it is for this reason that Archie doesn’t yet have a royal title. As the first baby to be born into the royal family who has dual heritage, there is no doubt that Archie is helping Meghan and Harry to change the monarchy for the better, which is just what they want to do. We can’t wait to see what they have in store for their son, and how they will go about showing him both the royal and non-royal sides of life.
