Meghan Markle Wore This Adorable ‘Sixteen Candles’ T-shirt: Where to Buy It for Under $20
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry stepped out for a relaxing shopping trip recently and Markle kept things super casual. Eagle eyed Markle fans noticed an interesting pop reference on the shirt the duchess was wearing: a shoutout to the 80s classic Sixteen Candles. Find out where to buy the t-shirt for under $20.
Markle and Prince Harry get some shopping in
While it appears that Markle has taken a break from royal engagements ahead of the upcoming arrival of Baby Sussex, that doesn’t mean she’s not up for a little retail therapy.
Markle and Prince Harry were spotted at a holistic spa in London, where they spent over two hours. The shop, Ilapothecary, sells homeopathic and natural products and provides courses to expectant parents and mothers who have recently had babies.
Given the amount of time the couple spent there, many wondered if Markle and Prince Harry indulged in some spa treatments during their visit. A source told Vanity Fair: “It was too long for a shop and the place offers treatments. They were both very casually dressed and when they emerged, Harry looked quite sweaty and red in the face, suggesting he might have been doing some yoga or having some sort of a treatment.”
The shop is ‘Meghan’s kind of thing’
The Ilapothecary website describes it as an “urban hideaway offering a selection of healing therapies, unique remedies and workshops,” providing organic products “designed with the desire to tap in to the energetic needs of the busy, modern woman, men, and the family.”
An insider close to the couple remarked, “This is absolutely Meghan’s kind of thing. She heard about the place and wanted to try it out.”
According to the Daily Mail, the treatments offered at the shop include a 90 minute Happy Hormone Equilibrium session or a treatment that involves “massage, chakra balancing and hands-on-healing to restore your nervous system and address any underlying issues or blockages to assist you to feel light, clear and happy.”
The Ilapothecary website further notes that they use “cutting-edge synergy of naturopathy, homeopathy, herbology and phyto-actives.” Additionally, they shared: “Our products are infused with powerful remedial ingredients to counteract the stresses of modern living, environmental and digital pollution, mental stress and body fatigue. Ilapothecary products nurture mind, body, skin and soul; to strengthen, balance, hydrate and heal.”
Meghan Markle wore a Sixteen Candles ‘Jake Ryan’ t-shirt
Photos snapped of the couple at the shop revealed Markle wearing a pop culture inspired t-shirt, based on the movie Sixteen Candles. The shirt features a cartoon illustration of the character Jake Ryan standing in front of a red car, as seen at the end of the classice John Hughes movie.
Markle appeared to pair the Jake Ryan t-shirt with Prince Harry’s khaki jacket that he wore back in 2015 as well as her gold Jennifer Meyer ‘Mummy’ necklace.
