Meghan McCain Just Signed on for a New Gig After ‘The View’

The View just launched its 25th season, sans Meghan McCain. Announcing her departure from the show in July, the conservative co-host sparked many heated debates at the iconic “Hot Topics” table during her four-year tenure. Now the former ABC star is taking her view to a famous publication.

Meghan McCain goes from ‘The View’ to ‘Daily Mail’

McCain announced in a statement that she will be using the power of the pen (or keyboard) to express her views. Now a columnist for the, the former talk show co-host releases her first article on Sept. 20.

“It’s a privilege to join the team as a columnist,” McCain said in a statement, according to the online publication. “I’ve been an avid reader of the website for many years and have been impressed by its global influence and reach. It truly is a juggernaut.”

The View alum noted a sense of freedom with her new gig, and is clearly ecstatic for the opportunity.

“I’ve always respected the way tackles issues across the entire political spectrum,” she remarked. “I’m looking forward to sharing my own opinions without fear or favor on the important issues that matter to our readers across the globe.”

‘The View’ alum shares her excitement on Instagram

Taking to social media, McCain gave some details on her upcoming job and didn’t hold back on her enthusiasm for returning to a writing career.

“Everything in my life these days is about going back to basics,” she wrote on Instagram. “I started my career as a columnist and am thrilled at the chance to return to it @dailymail – I am so excited to work in a completely uncensored, free thinking space as well as being the biggest juggernaut on the internet with 250 million readers monthly.”

McCain shared her appreciation for the opportunity, giving a shout out to the publication’s editor-in-chief and chief brand officer. She also added a heads-up for her followers on when to look out for her debut article.

“Thank you for this opportunity Martin Clarke, Sean Walsh and the entire Daily Mail conglomerate for the opportunity to use my voice on one of the largest global platforms in the entire world,” she posted. “My first column starts the week of September 20th!”

Meghan McCain will have an ‘uncensored say’ in her column

Clarke commented on how McCain will be an asset to the and have plenty of leeway in giving her opinions.

“I’m delighted to welcome Meghan to the team,” he said. “Meghan’s column will be a space for her to have her uncensored say on the news of the day whether it be political, breaking news, showbiz or issues based.”

With McCain’s previous experience as a writer as well as her turns on Fox News and MSNBC, the former panelist of The View has some valid credentials to bring to the editorial table.

“I’ve always been impressed with Meghan’s ability to generate discussion and debate,” Clarke shared. “I look forward to her columns tackling what Americans are talking about.”
