Where is Meghan McCain? ‘The View’ Fans Think She Quit the Show

Meghan McCain is a controversial figure on The View with her conservative stance that often clashes with that of her co-hosts. In recent weeks she has snapped at Whoopi Goldberg, sparred with Ana Navarro, and even shuts down audience members. However, the “Hot Topics” table has been missing McCain recently and fans have already started speculating she has quit the show.

Meghan McCain fears getting fired

McCain often receives backlash from fans that tune in to The View every morning. The daughter of the late Senator John McCain is strong on her convictions and she’s passionate about what she believes in. It is the fierceness in which she defends her opinions that she thinks she might get fired one day.

In fact, McCain recently said during an interview on Watch What Happens Live that she believes she will be let go.

“I go in assuming I’m going to be fired every day,” she told host Andy Cohen. “Every single day. Yes, every day.”

When the talk show host pressed her if she had even been close to getting cut from the ABC daytime show, she denied it.

“It’s more the tone we are [at] culturally, people get canceled so easily,” she explained. “And by the way, Joy has this same thing, because we are the most honest and raw. And we’re always going to say something that is going to be too far one way. So I say it sort of jokingly, but sort of not.”

Are ‘The View’ mugs cursed?

In another episode of the political show, McCain once again brought up the subject of getting fired from The View. The show recently debuted new mugs with the faces of the co-hosts. The Republican supporter expressed her theory about the cups and it wasn’t anything positive.

“I am very superstitious about these mugs as I told you Brian [the producer],” McCain said.

When Joy Behar asked why McCain added: “Every time you put people’s faces on a mug somebody gets fired.”

The producer informed McCain that Behar and Goldberg had been on “many, many mugs” and still had a job.

To appease the situation, Behar said, “they waited a long time for these, so I’m assuming they feel good about all of us.”

The last time that The View had mugs with the co-hosts faces was two seasons ago. At the start of season 21 new cups were introduced and shortly after Jedediah Bila announced she was leaving the show. It was after the aforementioned left that McCain joined the panel.

Fans question Meghan McCain’s status on the show

Fans have noticed that McCain had gone missing from The View in recent days. Since the co-host went missing from the “Hot Topics” table, the arguments have been less. Many have questioned if McCain was fired or if she quit the show.

At the beginning of Monday’s episode though, Goldberg revealed that McCain was absent due to her taking time off.

“So, Meghan is on vacation. She will be back on Wednesday,” Goldberg said at the top of the show.

McCain fans can breathe easier knowing that their conservative champion will be back on the talk show to represent their opinion. The View airs weekdays at 11 p.m. ET and 10 p.m. PT/CT.
