Meghan McCain Relates ‘The View’ to ‘The Real Housewives’
Meghan McCain is a solid co-host on The View that stands her ground to defend her political viewpoints. The conservative star has received a lot of backlash over her beliefs but that hasn’t deter her. Her voice is needed to keep a balance on the “Hot Topics” table that leans liberal. One question that she keeps being asked is if she would join The Real Housewives and she finally answered.
When McCain wants to decompress from talking about politics all day, she turns to Bravo. The Republican pundit is just like the rest of us and watches mindless drama to forget about the real-world drama. McCain is a Bravoholic and has confessed this on Watch What Happens Live.
The political analyst was on the late-night show this week as a guest along with Melissa Gorga from The Real Housewives of New Jersey. During the After Show, Gorga told McCain she is very Housewives-like in the way she handled drama with the infamous Denise from the “you were at my wedding Denise” meme fame.
“I say that,” McCain said. “My [executive producer] was like, ‘When are you going to join the Housewives?’ I was like, it would probably be easier.”
Cohen chimed in saying that he also thinks that being on Housewives is easier than being on The View. McCain agreed but she did not end up specifying if she would join the show for now.
Meghan McCain admits to feud with Abby Huntsman
One of the most shocking revelations made on WWHL was that she actually had a fight with her former co-host Abby Huntsman. There were rumors that they were distant but it wasn’t confirmed until her appearance on the Bravo show.
“We did get in a fight, which is a very small fight and a friend-fight,” McCain confirmed. “All friendships have ups and downs and it was bizarre for me to have the fact that we got into one fight to be put under dissection in the media.”
McCain also confessed to still being in good terms with Huntsman, who joined the show thanks to her.
“Abby and I have been friends for over 10 years. Our parents were friends in politics, we worked at Fox together, part of the reason of why she came to The View is because we were friends. We are still very good friends. We are very close and I just talked to her yesterday morning,” McCain added.
Meghan McCain would quit ‘The View’ for reason
Cohen also asked McCain what her thoughts were after her feud with Whoopi Goldberg when she asked her to stop talking.
“It was rough,” McCain answered. “I will say that she was having a bad day and we talked about it that night and the next day. It’s live TV and it’s really stressful times for everyone. I adore her. She apologized off-air, she apologized on-air. We all f***-up on the show. I forgive her and I love her and I could not do the show… if she leaves, I go.”
McCain only has love for Goldberg and confessed that if the latter leaves, she would go with her as well.
“Whoopi is the anchor of the show and my life there,” McCain continued. “She always picks us up when we’re down. If she jumps, I jump. Whoopi is… I adore her and I need her as the moderator.”
The View airs weekdays at 11 a.m. ET and 10 a.m. PT/CT.
