Is Meghan McCain Returning to ‘The View’ Post-Baby?

Meghan McCain is the controversial co-host of The View. The conservative on-air personality continually clashes with her fellow panelists on the talk show. Many fans constantly suggest she leave the show and have even urged her to leave following her maternity leave. The Republican pundit is undoubtedly going to leave the show to deliver her baby, but will she be returning?

Meghan McCain opens up about maternity leave

The political analyst announced back in March she was expecting a baby. McCain’s due date is coming up and many have questioned if she will leave the show for good to spend more time with her child. Despite many people’s wishful thinking, McCain has assured everyone she will return to the show.

“Why does everyone ask me if I’m getting fired or quitting every 20 seconds?” she said on Watch What Happens Live. “No other host has to deal with this BS. Yes, I’m coming back. It’s an election cycle.”

McCain said on the Bravo show that she would return after she has her baby as it’s an important year in American politics. When she will leave the show temporarily is still up in the air.

The conservative co-host is annoyed that her husband doesn’t get as much press about quitting or getting fired from his job due to maternity leave. McCain recently called out a double standard on Twitter once again.

“Super jealous no one is grilling my husband if he plans on continuing to work after our child is born,” she tweeted.

When does ‘The View’ return?

McCain and the rest of The View ladies are on hiatus at the moment. They will all have the rest of August off and are expected to return with live episodes after Labor Day in September. The television personality assured fans she was returning for Season 24 when she dedicated a sweet message after wrapping up the season.

“Thank you for a really wild, intense but memorable season. Today is our last episode and we are on hiatus for the summer,” McCain tweeted. “Grateful for this platform, my co-hosts, our fearless The View team, and one of the last truly uncensored spaces in all of television. See you in September!”

Meghan McCain explains why she’s been private about her pregnancy

When McCain is on The View she is all business and is always game to debate about politics. She usually shy’s away from talking about her personal life and she’s handled her pregnancy in that manner. There has not been much she has revealed about her road to motherhood and she recently explained why.

“Ben and I have made the conscious decision to guard our (growing) families’ privacy as much as is possible,” McCain posted on Instagram. “I believe children have a right to privacy and hope you will all understand as we navigate this as much as possible going forward without sacrificing our comfort or safety.”

McCain understands the irony of being on a daytime talk show and not talking about an important life event. However, she also gets a lot of flack on social media and wants to avoid it as much as possible.

“I know this is an unorthodox choice for a talk show host who is on TV five days a week – but I’ve always lived by the beat of my own drum,” she continued. “Thank you for the continued kind words, support and prayers regarding my pregnancy from so many of you who are nothing but kind. It has meant a lot during this crazy time.”

The View is set to return in September at 11 a.m. ET and 10 a.m. PT/CT.
