Meghan McCain Shades Ana Navarro on ‘The View’

Meghan McCain continues to generate headlines from being on The View. The conservative co-host recently had a quarrel with Ana Navarro that got so heated she had to walk off the set. Now, a week after the drama, McCain didn’t miss an opportunity to take a shot at the Republican pundit.

On Monday’s (September 30) episode of the ABC talk show, the ladies discussed how Republicans tried to spin talks of Donald Trump’s impeachment. McCain said that she watched all the Sunday news shows and felt the president’s party did not have a cohesive message. She feels that Republicans have not shown unity in what they want to convey.

During one of her points, McCain made sure to remind everyone why she doesn’t react aggressively with every little scandal involving Trump.

As you may know, Trump is involved in trying to negotiate funds to aid Ukraine in exchange for opening an investigation on Joe Biden’s son. The latter is the front runner to scoring the Democratic nomination and would eventually face Trump in the presidential election.

McCain feels that faced with a real scandal, her opinion is now taken more seriously.

How did Meghan McCain shade Ana Navarro?

During the discussion on the “Hot Topics” table, McCain took the word and took a swipe at her fellow co-host, Navarro.

“This is why it’s so important for conservatives on tv to not just go on tv every day and scream, ‘President Loco’, over and over again,” she said.

Navarro, who is Nicaraguan-born and speaks Spanish fluently, calls Trump President Loco constantly. She used that term to refer to him on the day that McCain stormed-off the set.

“It’s important that we’re honest about what’s happening in real-time because right now when people are asking me what’s going on… I’m saying ‘one wheel just fell off’ and people are listening a little more closely,” McCain added.

How did fans react to shade?

Fans of The View took to Twitter to share the clip and their reactions to the not-so-subtle shade.

“Must be nice to throw shade at your co-worker when she is not at the table,” a fan wrote. “That’s the only wat you won’t get checked girl. Why don’t you say that when she is actually at the table?”

“That wheel fell off a long time ago. Too bad you couldn’t see it. He is President Loco,” another viewer posted.

“Did you catch Meghan trying to shade Ana on The View today? She tries it when Ana is not there,” another Twitter user said.

Fans of the show were able to catch what McCain tried to do against Navarro and subsequently called her out for it.

Meghan McCain explains why she walked off ‘The View.’

When McCain made an appearance on Watch What Happens Live, host Andy Cohen asked about the spar with Ana Navarro. John McCain’s daughter played down the incident saying it’s something she does regularly.

“I just want to say the walking off footage, we are told by producers to leave the table if it’s too heated and I get touched up backstage with my makeup so that’s what I was doing and I’ve done that like many times over the years so I don’t know why this particular time…,” she explained.

McCain usually quips at the audience in the studio and also addressed those incidents that have aired live.

“I will say the audience is extremely combative and it’s nice to be with a positive audience,” she expressed. “The booing and the heckling is a lot every day. And I’m paid here at The View to be a different view and I would like us all when people come to roll it back cause again, I’m just trying to do a very competent job.”

Ultimately, McCain was hired for The View to be the controversial co-host. She is doing a phenomenal job as she continues to make headlines over her strong convictions in what she believes is right. You can catch McCain on the show weekdays at 11 a.m. on ABC.
