Mel B Throws Water at Simon Cowell, Storms Off ‘AGT’ Stage

Simon Cowell was doused with water on America’s Got Talent last night by fellow judge Mel B after he made a joke about her wedding night. When magician Demian Aditya had technical difficulties with his trick, Cowell made the crack, “I kind of imagine this would be like Mel B’s wedding night. A lot of anticipation, not much promise or delivery.”

The former Spice Girl was having none of it, and after the crowd made sounds of shock at the remark, she removed the lid from her Dunkin Donuts cup and launched the contents at Cowell before walking away. This happened during the live quarter final of the show.

As Mel B walked out, host Tyra Banks told viewers, “This is live TV, y’all – live TV.”

Mel B, whose real name is Melanie Brown, filed for divorce from her husband Stephen Belafonte in March. The two were married in 2007. In April, she was granted a restraining order against him, alleging years of abuse. The two have one child together, and Mel B has two other children from previous relationships.

The former Spice Girl eventually did come back and finish the show last night, and HuffPost UK reported her as saying, “I told him he was an arsehole. And he goes, ‘Oh, whatever.'” She added that her water toss was “done in a jokey way.”

In addition to being one of the Spice Girls from 1994 to 1998, Mel B has starred in her reality show on the Style Network called “Mel B: It’s a Scary World”. She has also hosted weight loss shows and been a judge for the Australian version of “The X Factor.” Currently, she judges on America’s Got Talent along with Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum and Cowell.
