In fact, during live performances, Ginger Minj sometimes performs as the Sea Witch, singing “Poor Unfortunate Souls.”
“The design for Ursula is based on Divine. [Ginger Minj] is the closest you can get to Divine and has the pipes to belt ‘Poor Unfortunate Souls,'” said one Twitter user. “No discredit to other talent but it would be amiss on [Disney’s] part to cast anyone else in the part.”
Another fan on Twitter suggested Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt’s Tituss Burgess should portray Ursula. The actor and comedian starred as Sebastian on Broadway. However, after a video surfaced of him singing “Poor Unfortunate Souls,” fans went crazy.
