If you want to watch a Christmas movie to take your mind off of the weather, we’ve got you covered. Whether you’re a How The Grinch Stole Christmas person or a White Christmas person, there are plenty of movies on Netflix to put fans in the holiday spirit. Here are a few of our favorites.

‘How the Grinch Stole Christmas’

There are so many meme-worthy moments from this movie. It’s a classic story but with a funny, Jim Carrey-esque twist. Jim Carrey even won the MTV Movie Award for “Best Villain,” awarded his portrayal of the Grinch.

Christmas movie purist will say the original, animated version of How the Grinch Stole Christmas is more charming. However, this movie gives fans the iconic tune, “Where Are You Christmas?” It’s definitely worth the stream on Netflix.

‘Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmas’

If you have not cried when Mickey bought Minnie a chain for her watch and Minnie bought Mickey a case for his harmonica, you’re seriously missing out. This movie is made up of three short stories starring Disney’s Fab Five — Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy, and Pluto.

They’re classic stories but with Disney’s cute and heartwarming touch. For more Christmas tales, Disney’s sequel, Mickey’s Twice Upon a Christmas, is also available for streaming on Netflix.

‘White Christmas’

One of the oldest movies on this list, this is a classic Christmas movie that helps set the early-holiday mood. In fact, this is the movie that gave us the iconic Christmas song, “White Christmas.”

Starring Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye, Rosemary Clooney, and Vera-Ellen, White Christmas tells the story four musicians who stumble upon a failing business after one of their shows. What happens next is nothing short of a Christmas miracle.

‘The Grinch’

Okay, so you’ve seen both versions of How the Grinch Stole Christmas — now what? In 2018, Illumination created another story of the infamous Grinch, entitled The Grinch. Starring Benedict Cumberbatch, this movie tells another tale of the Christmas-hating Grinch, whose heart grows three sizes.

“With its nostalgic charm and indulgent fun, directors Yarrow Cheney and Scott Mosier bring back the Dr. Seuss classic in all its mischievous glory,” said one critic for Book My Show.

‘The Nutcracker and the Four Realms’

One of Disney’s newest Christmas films, The Nutcracker and the Four Realms features well-known actresses like Ellie Bamber, Misty Copeland, Mackenzie Foy, and Kiera Knightley. The movie tells the story of a young girl named Clara, who travels to a new world of mystery and fantasy.

Visually captivating and exciting, The Nutcracker and the Four Realms is worth the Netflix stream, if only because most Disney films will be leaving Netflix.
