‘The Situation’ and ‘Laurens’ are expecting a baby

In May 2021, Mike and Lauren will become parents. The Sorrentinos shared news of their pregnancy with Jersey Shore fans the week of Thanksgiving 2020.

“We have a Baby Situation,” Mike shared on his Instagram. His wife echoed the sentiment, writing: “Our biggest blessing is on its way.”

The couple shared photos of themselves with their dog, Moses, standing at their kitchen island. A message written in flour read: “Baby Sorrentino May 2021.” Jersey Shore fans were happy for the couple, who experienced a miscarriage with their first pregnancy.

Mike Sorrentino has changed a lot over the last 10 years

When Jersey Shore first began, “The Situation” was a completely different person. During the early seasons of Jersey Shore, Mike’s misuse of painkillers was apparent but never captured. Fans saw “The Situation” at his lowest during the Italy season when his head collided with a concrete wall in a fit of rage.

Thanks to his friends, family, and loving wife, Mike has completely turned his life around. As fans have seen on Jersey Shore: Family Vacation, “Big Daddy Sitch” doesn’t drink, smoke, lie, cheat, or steal. So far in season 4, most of his energy has been dedicated to keeping the family together.

‘The Situation’ is celebrating five years of sobriety

On Dec. 1, Mike shared a photo on his Instagram that read “5 years clean and sober.”

“They said I would never make it,” he captioned the photo. “I said watch me.” His supportive wife commented on the image, writing:

Words can’t describe how proud of you I am. You continue to rise up higher than I ever imagined. Thank you for sharing your light & story with the world as I know many look up to you to help guide them through the way. Congratulations on 5 years living your best life, I love you forever! Love your wife, baby & Mosey

Mike has become a symbol for sobriety, working with Banyan Treatment Centers to help others achieve a healthy, sober life. His journey with sobriety will continue in 2021 when Baby Sorrentino arrives.

‘Jersey Shore’ fans are happy for ‘The Situation’

The anniversary of Mike’s sobriety is a big deal for himself and fans alike. Many celebrated this milestone with him on social media.

“It’s honestly very impressive to see how he’s completely turned his life around,” a fan wrote on Reddit. “He truly is living his best life.”

“I feel a little weird being so proud of someone I don’t know and will never meet but I teared up a little bit reading this,” another said. “What an accomplishment, and what an example to others who are struggling.”

“Good for him, dude,” yet another fan added. “And it’s honestly great that he shared his journey publicly. I hope it serves as inspiration to others struggling with addiction.”

“It’s so great to see how much he has changed and improved himself,” said another fan. “Can’t wait to see him become a great dad.”

Here’s to Mike’s continued success in sobriety.
