Mike Tyson Has An Interesting Connection To Actor Brad Pitt

While the celebrity world is small enough to bring some unlikely pairs into one another’s orbit, there isn’t — at first glance — a lot to connect Mike Tyson and Brad Pitt. But know there is a supposed link between the two celebrities. What exactly is the connection between these two men? Well, it has to do with some allegations Tyson lobbed Pitt’s way several years ago.

The two men built their fame in completely different industries.

Pitt began acting in the late 80s and steadily rose in popularity until he became one of the most sought after stars of all time. Meanwhile, his high-profile divorce from America’s sweetheart Jennifer Aniston and subsequent marriage to and divorce from America’s favorite bad girl Angelina Jolie left him making headlines for his dramatic love life.

While Pitt may be known for breaking hearts, Tyson is better known for breaking jaws. Starting his boxing career at just 18, he became the world’s youngest heavyweight champion. He is arguably one of the most recognizable names in professional boxing.

Even though he was sentenced to six years in prison after being convicted of rape — Tyson served three of them before getting released — and even though one of his most famous moments in the ring is for brutally biting off an opponent’s ear, Tyson kept a steady flow of fans around him. Today, he’s turned his attention to the marijuana industry and is making serious money off his Southern California weed ranch.

In the 1980s, Tyson was briefly married to a woman named Robin Givens. At the time, Givens was acting in a sitcom called Head of Class, and a young Pitt had scored an appearance on the show. At the same time, Givens and Tyson were in the process of divorcing, but the boxer crudely describes stopping by her house regularly for a quick hookup after visiting with his divorce lawyer.

He says that when he pulled up, he saw Givens in the driveway with Pitt. He went into some detail about this interaction in his 2013 memoir, Undisputed Truth, and later followed it up with interviews where he explained his reaction.

“I was mad as hell. I was going to . . . you should have saw his face when he saw me,” he said while describing the event.

Tyson’s account portrays Pitt as scared and Tyson as furious over his (soon to be ex-) wife’s apparent affair.

Robin Givens denies the allegations

Recently, Givens had a chance to talk publicly about the incident, and she remembers it quite differently. She spoke with Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live and explained that Tyson’s account is inaccurate.

“Pulling up in the driveway, that part is true,” Givens explained. “I didn’t read the book, but I was told he says he caught us in bed, which never happened. Never, ever, ever happened.”

She also points out that Tyson’s portrayal of Pitt as scared and begging him not to take a swing doesn’t fit Pitt’s character.

She said: “Does that sound like Brad? I mean, Brad’s got some swag, you know what I mean?”

Givens insists that she and Pitt were simply coming from a screening — and that nothing ever happened between them.

While this particular account of Tyson’s anger and Pitt’s fear might not be accurate, it appears that there was some violence within the relationship. In the time since her divorce from Tyson, Givens has revealed that she was the victim of domestic violence at his hands.

Tyson has gotten a lot of mileage out of the story about Pitt, telling it in both his memoir and in interviews, but it doesn’t seem like there is much to substantiate his claim.
