It’s been a whirlwind few months for singer Miley Cyrus. The world was shocked in early August 2019 when Cyrus and her husband, Liam Hemsworth, announced that they were going their sperate ways. Since the pair had been together on-again and off-again for the better part of a decade, for them to part ways after less than a year of marriage made us all take a step back.
In a move that raised even more eyebrows, while Hemsworth flew to his native Australia to spend some time with his family — Cyrus found herself entangled in a new romance. Cyrus was seen hooking up with The Hills starlet, Kaitlynn Carter. The ladies were moving at a lightning pace, attending New York Fashion Week together, and spending Carter’s 31st birthday in Malibu. However, just as quickly as the romance began it faded.
Though Cyrus seemingly ended things with Carter because their relationship was were getting too serious too fast, she is now in a full-blown relationship with Australian singer, Cody Simpson. Just a few days after she and Kaitlynn called it quits, the Hannah Montana alum began calling Simpson her boyfriend. But what does Cyrus’ body language say about her feelings about Hemsworth, Carter and Simpson?
Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth’s body language
Since we’re still trying to wrap our heads around this, body-language expert Blanca Cobb had decided to break down all of Cyrus’ romantic entanglements for us. She told Harper’s Bazaar that things between the songstress and her soon-to-be ex-husband were way tenser then we thought.
The former couple was last seen together at the Saint Laurent runway show in June 2019. Apparently, their body language was “deceptive” and showed a huge “disconnect” between them. According to Cobb, we should’ve known something wasn’t right. She said,
Miley is unplugged—just look at her zoned-out eyes. He’s looking at the camera and she’s not. With one foot in front of the other, it looks like she’s ready to bolt. Liam’s body language is a bit deceptive. Even though his body and feet are angled toward Miley, his hands tell the truth. A hand in the pocket signals that he’s feeling a bit uncomfortable about something. Look closely at his fingers of his right hand—it’s not a full grasp. His fingers and thumb are not completely touching Miley. This suggests that there’s trouble in the home front.
Miley Cyrus and Kaitlynn Carter’s body language
Cyrus seemed blissfully happy when she was with Carter–but apparently, appearances can be deceiving. The Mother’s Daughter singer ended thing with the reality starlet so fast that Carter is still hurt. Cobb suggests that the connection might have been too intense for Cyrus who was just ending her marriage. She said,
Kaitlynn’s hands on Miley’s midsection and Miley’s arm around Kaitlynn’s shoulder show that these two not only have an emotional connection but also are supportive of each other.
That makes a lot of sense since they were friends first.
Miley Cyrus and Cody Simpson’s body language
Since they started dating in early October 2019 — Cyrus and Simpson have been attached at the hip. They’ve shown PDA all over social media and the “Slide Away” singer has said Simpson is the best man she’s ever known.
According to Cobb, a lot of this relationship is for “shock value.” The pair are obviously comfy with each other. Cobb analyzed a photo of Miley’s hand down Simpson’s pants and she said, “Miley’s hand down the front of Cody’s pants is all about shock value to the world and a secret message between the two of them.”
At least it looks like Cyrus is having fun.
