Are Miley Cyrus and Cody Simpson Starting A Band?

After a whirlwind year, Miley Cyrus has been silent for the past few weeks. In August 2019 — the songstress shocked the world when she announced she and her husband, Liam Hemsworth, were ending their marriage. Though the pair had been married for less than a year — they had been together for nearly a decade.

Many fans were stunned. However, jaws really dropped when Cyrus quickly moved on with reality star, Kaitlynn Carter. The ladies had a summer fling that crashed and burned almost as quickly as it started.

Now, the “Slide Away” singer is in a full-blown relationship with the Australian singer, Cody Simpson. It looks like these two are taking things to the next level.

This is what Miley Cyrus has been up to lately

Though we’re used to Cyrus doing Instagram Lives and posting things about her life on social media, the Hannah Montana alum has been noticeably silent lately. The songstress is taking some time away from the spotlight as she rests from recent vocal surgery.

Though she’ll be back to music in 2020 — the singer has been unable to speak or sing for several weeks. When Cyrus does return, it appears that she and Simpson have something major up their sleeves.

Inside Miley Cyrus and Cody Simpson’s relationship

Unlike her fling with Carter — Cyrus’ relationship with Simpson is extremely serious. The pair have been close friends since 2015, and their relationship has blossomed in the past several months. When they first got together, they flooded the internet with their PDA and declarations of love for one another. However, according to them, this has been a long time coming.

The Australian-born singer explained to People, “The reason why it hasn’t been a really crazy sudden thing is just because we’ve been friends for so long….[We] found each other again in a space where we’re both not partying, working real hard, and it just keeps things healthy and it’s good.” In an IG live after going public with Simpson, Cyrus declared, “There are good men out there guys, don’t give up.”

Miley Cyrus and Cody Simpson may be starting a band

It looks like these two are in it for the long haul. According to TMZ — Cyrus has filed paperwork to trademark the band name, Bandit and Bardot. TMZ is reporting that Cyrus’ trademark includes, “entertainment services, including live music performances by a band and live performances by a professional singer, musician, and entertainer.” The paperwork also includes “a website focused on live concerts, plus the production of sound recordings on all types of mediums—CDs, DVDs, downloads, ring tones and more.”

It should be noted that Bandit and Bardot already has an Instagram page and it only follows Simpson and Cyrus. The couple has hinted at collaborating in the past.

“Yeah definitely. We’re looking at it,” Simpson told E! News in early December 2019. “We are getting all the songs down [on my album] and then seeing who would make sense for what. It’s going to be cool. It’s going to be pretty much a rock album. A lot of guitar.”

We guess we’ll find out in 2020.
