Miley Cyrus & Liam Hemsworth Have Unfollowed Each Other on Instagram
Less than a year after they officially tied the knot, Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth seem to have completely cut the cord. The former couple, who met back in 2009 on the set of their movie The Last Song, have cut off another form of communication. After 10 years of off-and-on dating, two engagements, the loss of their Malibu home, and an intimate wedding in December of 2018, the pair seem to have officially sung their last song (pun intended) together as a couple.
Breakup rumors began swirling earlier this year for the former couple. However, Cyrus was quick to debunk them on Twitter. However, when she posted some pictures to her social media pages back in August without her wedding rings, fans were particularly suspicious. Fuel was added to the rumor fire when the “Slide Away” singer was spotted kissing Kaitlynn Carter, who’d recently broken things off with her own husband, Brody Jenner. Still, long-time supporters of Hemsworth and Cyrus were still hoping for the best.
Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth split
Unfortunately, for diehard Liley (or Miam) fans, Cyrus’ reps issued a statement back in August confirming the couple’s separation. “Liam and Miley have agreed to separate at this time. Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what’s best while they both focus on themselves and careers. They still remain dedicated parents to all of their animals they share while lovingly taking this time apart. Please respect their process and privacy,” the rep said in the statement.
Immediately, rumors began to swirl about the cause of the split between Hemsworth and Cyrus. When tabloids began making falsities, Hemsworth took to his Instagram page to set the record straight. “Hi, all. Just a quick note to say that Miley and I have recently separated and I wish her nothing but health and happiness going forward. This is a private matter and I have not made, nor will I be making, any comments to any journalists or media outlets. Any reported quotes attributed to me are false. Peace and Love,” the Catching Fire actor declared.
The singer responds to claims that her marriage ended due to cheating
Cyrus too addressed the rumors in public statements that she posted to her social media pages. Many critics of the “Mother’s Daughter” singer blamed her for the separation and began speculating that her infidelity caused her short-lived marriage to crumble. The 27-year-old was sure to inform the public that those claims were baseless. “I can admit to a lot of things but I refuse to admit that my marriage ended because of cheating. Liam and I have been together for a decade. I’ve said it before & it remains true, I love Liam and always will,” she shared candidly.
A new boyfriend and girlfriend
Since those statements were issued, both Cyrus and Hemsworth have been quiet about their impending divorce. There were, however, signs that they were moving on. Cyrus went on to date Carter and then most recently, Cody Simpson. Hemsworth, on the other hand, was linked romantically with Maddison Brown and is now rumored to be dating Gabriella Brooks.
Cyrus and Hemsworth unfollow each other on Instagram
It seems that the pair has also moved on from keeping up with each other on social media. Back in November, Cyrus scrubbed her Instagram of any and all evidence of Hemsworth by deleting all videos and photos of him and them together. Furthermore, the former couple has officially unfollowed one another on Instagram. Still, despite going their separate ways, they seem to be publically amicable. Hopefully, they are able to continue this pattern in the future.
