Why Miley Cyrus Just Called This Singer “A Baby Genius”
Say what you will about Miley Cyrus, but there’s absolutely no denying her incredible talent. A powerhouse singer and songwriter, Cyrus has been gracing our eardrums with her soulful, southern twang of a voice since 2006. Having gotten her start on the hit Disney show, Hannah Montana, it was clear that Cyrus had picked up her dad’s (country singer, Billy Ray Cyrus) talent for music. Now the Black Mirror actress is singing the praises of this talented singer, calling her “a baby genuis.”
Miley Cyrus’ family
It can be hard to keep track of all of Cyrus’ siblings, (she has five in total, and many of them are musicians) but, if you’re a diehard fan of the “Mother’s Daughter” singer, you’ve likely seen or heard of her sister, Noah Cyrus. The youngest of the Cyrus clan, 19-year-old Noah Cyrus, is just as talented as her famous older sister. Noah Cyrus often had guest roles on Hannah Montana, but her true gift lies with music.
If you travel back in time to September 2017, you may remember the inescapable song “Again” frequenting radio airways. “I wanna be your lover. I don’t wanna be your friend. You don’t know what you got ’til it’s gone, my dear. So tell me that you love me again,” was the hauntingly beautiful chorus of the hit song. With over 92 million views on YouTube, the song officially made Noah Cyrus one to watch.
Since then, Noah Cyrus has kept busy collaborating with other artists and even opening for Katy Perry on tour. However, the singer hadn’t released any new music since late last year. This all changed when the 19-year-old singer released her latest single “July” on the very last day of the month. The song itself is breathy, melancholy, and beautiful and is so far being very well-received. Noah Cyrus’ 5 million Instagram fans have fallen in love with the tune, and Miley Cryus is no exception. Taking to her Instagram story, the “Cattitude” singer praised her baby sister.”My sister Noah Cyrus is a baby genius and put out bada*s music today, “July”! Go check it out!,” the 26-year-old wrote.
Of course, Noah Cyrus reposted her sister’s praise to her Instagram stories, along with recognition from a bevy of other artists who are also completely enthralled by the new song. The “July” singer also took the opportunity to express how much her newest single meant to her in a vulnerable Instagram post shortly following the song’s release.
An emotional and heartfelt anthem
“July is out now. this one is really emotional for me and extremely heartfelt. Thank you to Peter Harding and Michael Sonier for making me feel comfortable enough to open up and write this song. I wrote this about a time when I felt like I amounted to nothing to someone and never felt good enough for them. I stayed in fear of the heartbreak though my heart was already in a million pieces. Anyway, it’s out now here’s a piece of my life that made a huge impact on me. Thanks for listening if you do. Link in bio,” Noah Cyrus wrote.
In this heartfelt note, Noah Cyrus also shared that there was a time that she was unsure if she’d have the courage to share her music again. “I also wanna thank my team for helping me build the confidence over the past year to be able to even put out music again,” the 19-year-old songwriter confessed.
What’s next for Noah Cyrus
We’re so glad the Noah Cyrus decided to gift us with this song and that she has the full support of her big sister, Miley Cyrus. The 19-year-old’s timing for releasing the song couldn’t have been better as we have now fully entered into August aka the Sunday of Summer. “July” is the perfect end-of-summer anthem with its blues and longing. If Noah Cyrus continues to make music like this, the sky is the limit for her. We can’t wait to see what she does next.
