‘Million Dollar Listing’: What Was One Thing That Got Ryan Serhant’s Wife Emila Through IVF and Pregnancy?
Ryan Serhant and Emilia Bechrakis Serhant from Million Dollar Listing New York recently welcomed baby Zena to their family. The couple shared their struggles with pregnancy in an earlier season and their fears that they may not be able to conceive.
But after enduring in-vitro fertilization (IVF) the couple finally learned Bechrakis was pregnant. In fact, Serhant secretly filmed the couple taking the pregnancy test, which aired during the first episode of season eight.
Although Bechrakis became pregnant during filming, fans didn’t know she was expecting until the couple announced the birth of their daughter. Bechrakis posted a beautiful first family photo to Instagram. “I have waited to exhale for months. It took a long, painful journey to meet you. From the first time we heard your heart beating, I instantly wanted to cocoon you and protect you from the world,” she lovingly wrote.
The ‘Real Housewives’ actually helped her through her pregnancy
Bechrakis and Serhant appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen. Bechrakis was the Clubhouse bartender during the After Show, and host Andy Cohen wondered if Bechrakis watched the Housewives.
Vicki Gunvalson from The Real Housewives of Orange County was also a guest. “Emilia do you watch any of the Housewives,” Cohen asked. Bechrakis said, “So I have to tell you, the Housewives got me through IVF and through my pregnancy.”
Cohen seemed intrigued. She continued, “So I really appreciate all of you. Because I was pretty much alone most of the time.” Gunvalson is heard saying she’d heard that before. Cohen adds, “I’ve heard that a lot about IVF, pregnancy, illness. People who have said, ‘I was in a bad place and it made me escape.'”
This ‘RHOC’ went through IVF on camera
When Meghan King Edmonds was a cast member on RHOC, she was very open about allowing cameras to document her IVF journey. Cameras followed her to appointments, even filming painful procedures as she worked toward becoming pregnant.
She was even confronted with the decision about viable embryos, hoping to give her husband a boy. But when having a boy wasn’t in the cards she grieved but was thrilled to learn she would have a baby girl. After Aspen was born she embarked upon IVF again after she left the show. This time she learned she was going to have a boy … two of them.
Edmonds shared in her blog she was nervous about doing IVF again. “Opposite of my first experience with IVF, this time I was anxious for the emotional toll while knowing I could handle the physical repercussions. Additionally, I had reliable companionship this time around with Jimmy by my side, my trusty furry companion Girly Girl and of course, baby Aspen.”
Is the couple ready for more kids?
Baby Zena is only a few months old, but a caller wanted to know if the couple planned to have more children. “Are we having more kids,” Serhant turned and asked his wife.
Bechrakis shrugged, probably not quite ready to go there just yet. But Serhant said, “Probably!” Cohen asked if they ultimately wanted more kids and both said yes.
