Miss ‘Power’? Here’s Where Else You Can Watch Star Omari Hardwick
While we’re all trying to figure out who shot Ghost in the mid-season finale of Power, Omari Hardwick is not giving up any information. The actor—who’s been playing James St. Patrick all these seasons—has been mum on his character’s fate but fans aren’t sure if it’s the last they’ll be seeing of him. Power returns to Starz on Jan. 5, but if you are a hardcore Hardwick fan and need a fix, there are a few other places to catch him.
Since it’s a real possibility that Ghost is dead, that means Hardwick will have some time to work on other projects. With that said, here’s a short listing of what’s coming up for him and the most recent films you can watch him play someone other than Ghost.
‘Army of the Dead’
During an appearance on the Karen Hunter show, Hardwick spoke about some upcoming film projects, including Netflix’s Army of the Dead. He stars alongside Dave Bautista as part of a group of zombie-fighting soldiers looking to complete a high stakes mission. According to ScreenRant, the Zack Snyder flick has already wrapped production and is rumored to have a release date in winter 2020.
Written and directed by Nate Parker, American Skin stars Hardwick as a divorced veteran seeking to mend his relationship with his son. When his child is killed by a police officer, Hardwick’s character turns vigilante. The movie is set to be released in January 2020. Not all the reviews of the film have been favorable, but if you’re a fan of Hardwick’s performances, check it out.
Per IMDb, this movie is in pre-production and filming is taking place in South Africa. Hardwick stars in the lead role of Marq, a plane crash survivor taken in by strangers “in rural Appalachia” who practice ancient medicine. The film is expected to drop in August 2020.
Hardwick plays Frank, a love interest/friend of Tika Sumpter’s Danica in Nobody’s Fool, a film by Tyler Perry. If you want to see the actor star in a lighthearted rom-com rather than a gritty drama or thriller, then this 2018 movie is what you want. Stream it now on Amazon Prime Video.
‘Sgt. Will Gardner’
It just so happens that Hardwick plays the best friend of a character nicknamed “Ghost” (played by Max Martini) in this film about a war veteran struggling with PTSD and a traumatic brain injury. Although this 2019 movie hasn’t received much fanfare, fans have given it high marks.
‘A Boy. A Girl. A Dream.’
Are you really into love stories? Meagan Good and Hardwick teamed up to steal each other’s hearts in this film about two strangers who have a chance meeting and hit it off. Here’s the description from Sundance:
“Cass (Omari Hardwick), a handsome USC grad stalled in his career, is getting lost in the alcohol- and drug-infused world of LA club promotion. On the night of the 2016 presidential election, he meets Frida (Meagan Good), a beautiful, spirited midwestern visitor dealing with a difficult breakup. Their chemistry is undeniable. Nothing will ever be the same again.”
The film is now streaming on Amazon Prime. Hardwick hasn’t said much about the other projects he has on the horizon, but we do know he doesn’t plan on playing Ghost forever.
