The Most Adorable Times the ‘Stranger Things’ Stars Proved They’re Really Best Friends
The reason Netflix’s Stranger Things has become such a phenomenon is primarily because of the chemistry between the child actors. We truly believe that these kids are all friends, and seeing them bond over video games and Dungeons & Dragons is the heart of the show.
As it turns out, that chemistry is so believable because the actors legitimately get along quite well in real life. They hang out even when filming isn’t taking place, and some of what the star have posted about one another on social media is downright adorable.
Here’s a look at some of the most heartwarming times the kids from Stranger Things proved that they’re best friends in real life.
1. When they revealed they have a group chat with an amazing name
The Stranger Things kids don’t just get along while they’re actually working. Apparently, they’re constantly chatting off-set as well. In a 2016 interview, the cast revealed that they created a group chat called Stranger Texts as soon as they all got the job.
“It’s really nice to talk to each other when we need each other on this group chat,” Millie Bobby Brown said. Noah Schnapp added that the group chat isn’t what made them friends, but it definitely helped.
Apparently, they also create a lot of separate chats for dumb purposes. In one instance, Brown told Vulture that when she got a blemish, they created a whole group chat called Pimple It, with everyone texting back and forth about her pimple.

2. When Millie Bobby Brown said Noah Schnapp is the greatest friend ever
The whole cast of Stranger Things gets along well, but Millie Bobby Brown and Noah Schnapp seem to be particularly close, which is ironic considering they barely have any scenes together.
But Schnapp told Teen Vogue that he and Brown became close by making video diaries together during the early days of the show. And anyone who follows Brown on Instagram will know how much she loves Schnapp. In one Instagram post of the two of them doing press together, she called him “the greatest friend a girl could ask for!”
In another post on Schnapp’s birthday, she called him her “other half” and “partner in crime.” And for Brown’s birthday, Schnapp gave her a framed list of things he loves about her, with Brown responding by calling him her best friend.

3. When they went to Gaten’s brother’s birthday party
It’s not as if the cast of Stranger Things only sees one another when they’re filming or when they’re promoting the show. They all hang out in real life and with one another’s families, too.
In just one example of that, several of the cast members got together for a birthday dinner for Gaten Matarazzo’s brother back in 2016, as seen on Matarazzo’s Instagram account.
Not all of the cast members were there in that picture, but the ones who were missing, like Brown, hung out with Matarazzo’s siblings on another occasion.

4. When Millie Bobby Brown and Sadie Sink when on vacation together
Sadie Sink was a late addition to the Stranger Things cast, only joining as Max in Season 2. However, that doesn’t mean the cast was not quick to embrace her. In fact, Sink and Brown seem to get along quite well, having a relationship quite different from that of their fictional characters.
In August 2017, Sink and Brown even went on vacation to Cabo San Lucas together. Brown posted on Instagram at the time, “love you Sade! thank you for coming to #CABO with me! These memories will last forever to me.”
The two later explained to Vulture that they immediately connected as the only two girls in the group.

5. When Noah Schnapp defended Finn Wolfhard on Twitter
Back in November 2017, Finn Wolfhard was being unfairly criticized on Twitter by fans for not stopping to sign autographs. In response, Shannon Purser, who played Barb in Season 1, wrote, “Okay, no. No actor is under any obligation to stop for anyone. Finn is an incredibly kind human. But he’s human and he needs breaks too.”
Noah Schnapp subsequently chimed in, agreeing with Purser’s tweet and defending his co-star and friend. “So true. we really love the fans. Finn is the nicest guy u will ever know. we all work so hard, and need a break sometimes,” Schnapp wrote.

6. When they hung out on Halloween and watched High School Musical
Appropriately, the cast of Stranger Things spent Halloween 2017 together. As they explained on The Tonight Show, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, and others got together on Halloween and were planning on watching a bunch of scary movies. But instead, they ended up watching High School Musical.
The cast previously told Vulture that they once went trick-or-treating together; this apparently took place in 2016, right after the show came out, but they were able to mostly avoid recognition since they were dressed up.

7. When they went to Six Flags together
Another time the cast got to have fun together off set was when they took a trip to Six Flags. They were spotted at Six Flags Over Georgia in May 2017; the park was not far from Atlanta, where Season 2 of the show as being filmed.
Apparently, the cast goes to Six Flags — or at least talks about going to Six Flags — a lot. Back in that Vulture interview, Brown said that Noah randomly chimed into their pimple-related chat to ask about taking a trip to the theme park.
“And then Noah was like, ‘Anybody want to go to Six Flags?’” Brown told Vulture. “And I was like, ‘This is not about Six Flags. This [group text] is about my pimple.’”
Sometimes the cast hangs out in a more low-key way, though. Brown told People that they also just like to “sit in and watch movies together.”

8. Their adorable Instagram messages to one another
The cast’s social media accounts are just absolutely chock-full of charming messages of love to one another. On Sink’s birthday, for instance, Schnapp wrote to her, “I hope you have the absolute best 15th birthday! (next year you’ll be driving us) So glad you became a part of the cast and I’m so glad I met you! Time to celebrate!!”
On Matarazzo’s birthday, Wolfhard gave him a shoutout, posting a photo of the two of them dancing together and writing, “Happy 15th to this handsome boy-child. Love you bro!!!!!!” When Caleb McLaughlin won an NAACP award, Matarazzo congratulated him, writing, “I’m so unbelievably proud of my friend @therealcalebmclaughlin for his @naacpimageawards Congratulations buddy!!”
These are just a few examples of the cast giving one another words of encouragement and making their love for one another as clear as can be.
