This Was the Most Underrated Member of the Duncan Family on Disney Channel’s ‘Good Luck Charlie’
Teddy is smart, PJ is “nice,” Charlie is adorable and Gabe is… well, Gabe. But there are a few forgotten members of the Duncan family that glue it all together. Here’s what fans had to say about the dad of the Disney Channel original series Good Luck Charlie, Bob Duncan.
There are a handful of people in the Duncan Family on ‘Good Luck Charlie’
With this series premiering about a decade ago, fans have had plenty of time to get acquainted with the Duncan family. Together, they navigated the typical challenges of the teenage years, all while taking care of the youngest members of the family, Charlie and, eventually, Toby.
The kids (PJ, Teddy, Gabe, Charlie, and Toby,) are always getting into trouble, but not without the help of their parents, Bob and Amy. A proud graduate of Southwest Denver Community College, nurse, and self-proclaimed singer, Amy is the matriarch of this family, and her husband, Bob Duncan, is just as loveable.
Some fans are calling for justice for Bob Duncan, AKA the ‘Bob Duncan Experience’
Not only was he one of Denver’s best “pest control specialists,” but Bob Duncan ended up being the butt of Gabe’s jokes. The rest of the family poked fun at his weight, his bald head, his job, his dance moves, but, without Bob Duncan, the kids wouldn’t have a lot of the support they needed to grow.
That’s especially true of the last season, where Bob Duncan offered support to Teddy while she was applying for college and even give PJ money to start his own food truck. (The food truck eventually became” B & PJ’s PB & Js.” Bob was the “B.”) He even balanced out a lot of the craziness brought on by Amy Duncan.
With fans ‘canceling’ Amy Duncan, some gave a shoutout to Bob Duncan
After Leigh-Allyn Baker shared her thoughts regarding the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, some fans vocally disagreed with her, even “canceling” her character, Amy Duncan, on social media. As a result, some fans shared their love for the father of Good Luck Charlie.
“[I’m] thinking about how Bob Duncan raised five kids as a single dad and was still a successful exterminator. setting the bar high for all dads out there,” one Twitter user joked, posting a photoshopped picture of the cast.
“Good Luck Charlie did so much for how single fathers are viewed in society. I’m so glad that Bob Duncan, a single father of [five,] was able to raise such great children without the help of any mother. I repeat, NO mother. Just Bob and the kids. Great show, truly,” another Twitter user said.
“After good luck charlie aired the Bob Duncan Experience blew… up and Bob Duncan left home for his sold-out stadium tour and never came back,” another Twitter user wrote.
Episodes of Good Luck Charlie are available on Disney’s streaming platform, as is the movie featuring the Duncan family, Good Luck Charlie: It’s Christmas! To learn more about Disney+ and to subscribe, visit their website.
