Move Over, Hallmark and Lifetime. Original Holiday Movies Are Coming to OWN This Year.

Oprah is already the queen of the perfectly curated Christmas wish list. Now, she’s making her mark on another holiday tradition — the made-for-TV Christmas movie. The iconic talk show host’s OWN network will air its first-ever original holiday movies this year.

Compared to Hallmark and Lifetime, which will air dozens of holiday movies from October through the end of December, OWN’s starting small. But the three movies on its schedule still look like must-sees for anyone who loves the Christmas season.

The movies will air on consecutive Fridays beginning November 15, beginning with One Fine Christmas and followed by Carole’s Christmas and Baking Christmas.

“We are excited to bring holiday movies to OWN,” Tina Perry, president, OWN, said in a statement. “This special time of year is about spending time with the ones you love, and we think our viewers are going to enjoy watching these movies together throughout the season.”

One Fine Christmas stars father-daughter pair Rick and Sasha Fox and marks the first time they’ve acted together. They’re joined by Marla Gibbs and Soul Food’s Vanessa Williams for this movie about the families on Christmas Street. They’ve been so busy with their day-to-day lives that they’ve lost sight of the importance of family during the holidays. According to OWN, “this’“slice of life’ holiday tale shares the individual stories of these neighbors as they celebrate Christmas Eve and find themselves unexpectedly united for the holiday season.”

One Fine Christmas airs Friday, November 15 at 9/8c on OWN.

‘Carole’s Christmas’

Jackée Harry and Kimberly Elise star in this movie about an overworked businesswoman named Carole Jordan (Elise) who learns the true meaning of “be careful what you wish for” after she wishes she’d taken another path in life. In this It’s a Wonderful Life-esque tale, Carole’s wish is granted, which turns her world upside down. The only person she can confide in is Iris (Harry), who she recognizes from her “past life.” As she realizes she no longer has time for the things that once mattered to her, she learns how grateful she really was for her previous life.

Carole’s Christmas airs Friday, November 22 at 9/8c on OWN.

‘Baking Christmas’

Aloma Wright stars as Patty, the founder of her town’s most successful bakery. When she announces that she plans to retire, her children Jennifer (Khalilah Joi), Angela (Leigh-Ann Rose), and Anthony (Arnell Powell), step up, each with their own ideas about running the business. The only way to ensure that that the shop ends up in the right hands? A Christmas bake-off, where they compete against each other to create the best-ever Christmas confection.

Baking Christmas airs Friday, November 29 at 9/8c on OWN.
