‘NCIS: Los Angeles’ Star Eric Christian Olsen Reveals His Favorite Travel Destination
The colder months might have you looking for a place to get away. If you’re seeking a warm place to visit for the holidays, “NCIS: Los Angeles” star Eric Christian Olsen has a great recommendation. Here’s what Showbiz Cheat Sheet learned about one of Olsen’s favorite places to travel.
Eric Christian Olsen loves to travel here
Olsen says his favorite place to visit is the Amalfi Coast. He told CBS’s “Watch!” magazine that he chose to go here for his pre-honeymoon. He and his wife loved the destination so much they stayed longer than they originally planned. Here’s what Olsen told the publication:
One of my favorite places in the world is Italy’s Amalfi Coast. We went there on our pre-honeymoon, and we were supposed to go there for four days, and then to Rome for four days. We ended up staying on the Amalfi Coast for seven days and spent just 13 hours in Rome because it was so stunning.
Eric Christian Olsen suggests staying at this hotel
Where does Olsen like to stay when he travels to Italy? The actor said he is fond of Hotel Santa Caterina, Amalfi, which he described as a place that’s so beautiful, it could take your breath away. “Breathtaking hotel. Every morning I would get up, have a nice orange juice on the terrace, walk down, and go swimming in the Mediterranean. Then I would go back up and have breakfast, read the paper, and then go swimming [again],” Olsen told the publication.
A vacation is a much-needed break from the grueling TV schedule
During an interview with Festival de Télévision de Monte-Carlo, Olsen spoke about the tough filming schedule he and his co-stars must stick to. “Typical days on set, we usually do 60 to 70 hours a week, so we’re up pretty early, which is fun, because LA is just a big traffic grid. So, at 5:30 there isn’t a ton of traffic out there,” Olsen said. Olsen says the series is usually filmed 10 months out of the year.
This is Daniela Ruah’s favorite place to travel
In a separate interview with “Watch!” magazine, Daniela Ruah spoke about her home country of Portugal. She was born in Boston, Massachusetts, but lived outside the city of Lisbon, Portugal, from the age of 5 until she moved to attend college. “My parents were born and raised in Lisbon, but I grew up just outside the city in a town called Cascais, which is right up on the water and beautiful,” Ruah told the publication.
Ruah occasionally returns to Portugal with her family. “I was there this past summer with my husband and kids for two months, and it’s a perfect place to visit if you’re a tourist. The Portuguese people are very kind,” Ruah told “Watch!”
