‘NCIS: Los Angeles’: What Was Miguel Ferrer’s Net Worth at the Time of His Death?
Former NCIS: Los Angeles star Miguel Ferrer died on January 19, 2017. His co-stars and producers marveled at how hard he worked, even up until the end of his life. Here’s a look back at Miguel Ferrer’s net worth, life, and career.
Miguel Ferrer’s death
Miguel Ferrer died from throat cancer at the age of 61. George Clooney, Ferrer’s cousin, gave a statement about how much the late actor meant to him and his family. “Miguel made the world brighter and funnier and his passing is felt so deeply in our family that events of the day, (monumental events), pale in comparison. We love you, Miguel. We always will,” Clooney said in a statement released to The Hollywood Reporter.
Miguel Ferrer as Owen Granger on ‘NCIS: Los Angeles’
Ferrer played Assistant Director Owen Granger from 2012 until his death in 2017. He appeared in two episodes after his death, which were filmed beforehand. NCIS: Los Angeles showrunner R. Scott Gemmill had nothing but praise for the actor. “Miguel was a man of tremendous talent who had a powerful dramatic presence on screen, a wicked sense of humor, and a huge heart,” said Gemmill in a statement.
Miguel Ferrer said his cast mates made him want to go to work every day
During the 2014 Festival de Télévision de Monte-Carlo, an interviewer asked Ferrer what motivated him to keep going to work every day. He told her he was excited to come to work because of the people he worked with.
I’m sure everyone you’ve talked to today said, ‘Oh, we’re like a family. We’re all so close. It’s usually not true. I’ve been doing this a long time. It’s never true. But in my case, with NCIS: Los Angeles, it’s really true. We all get along so well and are so fond of one another. And so that is what I look forward to most. And obviously, the work is great. The writing is a lot of fun and the characters are great to play. That’s great, but I think just working with the people is what I get most excited about.
Miguel Ferrer wanted to stay on NCIS: Los Angeles for as long as he could
At one point, the interviewer at the 2014 Festival de Télévision de Monte-Carlo asked Ferrer what his plans were in the next couple of years. She asked if he planned to stay on NCIS: Los Angeles or if he desired to move on to another show. Ferrer said he wanted to remain on NCIS: Los Angeles for as long as he could. “I would love to ride this into the sunset. And I think we all want to do it for a good, long time,” said Ferrer. “I think we’re all really happy doing it… There are a lot of cast members of a lot of shows that aren’t happy, and that’s not the case here. I think everybody really wants to do this for a good many years longer. As long as people keep watching.”
