‘NCIS: Los Angeles’: A Lieutenant Goes Missing and Navy SEALS Could Be at Risk

In “NCIS: Los Angeles” season 11, episode eight, titled, “Human Resources.” Navy Lieutenant Paul Tatum (William J. Finely) is involved in a car accident. What happens next is a mystery. The lieutenant disappears from the accident scene, and no one seems to know where he went.

Further complicating things, after searching the crime scene, the NCIS team discovers Lieutenant Tatum’s laptop is missing in addition to confidential information for retired Navy SEALs. If that information gets into the wrong hands, there’s no telling what could happen. Also guest starring is JoNell Kennedy, who plays Navy Commander Susan Yelton.

Who is JoNell Kennedy, the actress who plays Navy Commander Susan Yelton?

JoNell Kennedy made her acting debut in the 1992 movie “How You Like Me Now?” After that, she appeared in a 1994 episode of “The Adventures of Briscoe County, Jr.” titled “Hard Rock.” Furthermore, Kennedy had recurring roles on “The Mentalist,” “The Rich and the Ruthless,” and “You’re the Worst.” Her other acting appearances include “Seinfeld,” “ER,” “Friends,” and “General Hospital.”

This isn’t the first time Kennedy has appeared in a role on “NCIS: Los Angeles.” Back in 2016, she played Navy Commander Susan Yelton in an episode titled “Where’s There’s Smoke.” In 2013, Kennedy played Navy Commander Lisa Cleveland in an “NCIS” episode titled “Detour.”

Sam and Callen found themselves in another unusual situation. In “NCIS: Los Angeles” season eleven, episode seven, titled “Concours D’Elegance,” the NCIS team connects the theft of an undersea drone prototype to a video game streamer’s party.  

In the episode teaser, we see Deeks standing next to a truck with a man inside, hunched over the wheel. Deeks is heard saying, “Whoever wanted him dead, really wanted him dead.” The clip then swings over to Callen, who says, “He was a naval researcher working on some classified projects.” Sam says it’s a matter of national security, and Kensi announces the entire Navy would now be at risk. The clip ends with Nell saying, “But it only gets worse from there.”

What else is going on in the ‘NCIS’ universe?

The NCIS team is called upon to investigate the murder of a marine. What they find has them looking for even more answers. During their investigation, the team discovers live-streaming spy cameras that were hidden in the rooms of a hotel. Could the murder have been captured? Why were there cameras in the hotel room?

If you haven’t seen this episode yet, be aware that there’s a bit of blood and guts a few minutes into the show. Make sure you haven’t eaten a full meal before viewing this episode—it might not stay in your stomach. At one point, we see Ellie covering her face, and Palmer looks terrified.
