‘NCIS’: The 1 Thing Michael Weatherly Misses Most About the Show
Former NCIS star Michael Weatherly is now enjoying success as the star of CBS’ Bull. Weatherly hasn’t been on NCIS since 2016, but there are still some things he says he misses about working on the show. Here’s the one thing Michael Weatherly said he misses most about NCIS.
Michael Weatherly once said the Bull team is still ‘building’ the show
Weatherly said it takes time to make sure a show is exactly what fans want. During a 2017 interview with TV Insider, he said a lot of what makes a television show successful is subjective. However, he feels the most important part is making sure the show is good:
The success of the show is really the key. People are always asking me [about its future], and I’m like, “Well, look, I know it’s not a disaster.” [Laughs] Some people think, “It’s still on?” while others are like, “It’s doing so great!” There’s a lot of very subjective stuff around television these days. The key is, “Is the show any good?” Is it holding water and making sense? And when you think of it as a viewer, do you understand what the promise of the show is? And are we delivering? We’re still building the recipe.
What Michael Weatherly misses most about NCIS
Weatherly’s last appearance on NCIS was a 2016 episode titled “Family First.” Although Weatherly has moved on to his show Bull, he still misses some aspects of working on NCIS. This is what Weatherly told TV Line:
You know, I miss that specific camaraderie. I miss the people and smiles, the laughter. But I have had some good laughs on Bull! I felt very satiated by my experience at NCIS. As I said to you last time, it was a full circle and I felt ready to move on, and that has definitely been the case. I have no remorse or misgivings about what went down.
Does the NCIS cast get along?
During a 2013 interview with Extra TV, Harmon spoke about the interaction among the cast. The host expressed her surprise at how long NCIS has been on TV. “Eleven seasons, that’s a long time to play the same character!” remarked the host. However, Harmon said it was all good because the cast members liked each other:
You’ve met the whole cast. And you know that they all like each other, and we don’t act that. It’s a remarkable place; I can talk about it all day. But this is a rare occurrence. I’ve done enough shows to know that, and so have many on the show. As long as we can appreciate that, I think we’ll continue to grow.
