Pauley Perrette was a favorite among faithful NCIS viewers. The actress made a name for herself when she began playing Abby Sciuto, the unstoppable forensics expert. However, Perrette decided to leave the show in May 2018. One thing fans are curious about is her marital status. Is Pauley Perrette married? Here’s what we know about her.

Perrette tries to maintain close ties with her family. She recently posted a picture of herself with her cousins on Twitter. In a separate post she wrote, “A ton of my cousins are staying with me. I love my family so much!”
Is Pauley Perrette married?
Perrette is not currently married, but she was married more than a decade ago. The actress was married to Canadian musician Francis “Coyote” Shivers from 2000 to 2006. Things didn’t end well between the former spouses. Perrette’s ex accused her of making “handwritten death threats” and defaming him because he filed for divorce from her, reports The Blast. Shivers filed a personal injury lawsuit in 2018, alleging Perrette intentionally tried to ruin his reputation. Perrette has accused her ex-husband of harassment.

Although the actress played a forensics expert on NCIS, it wasn’t far from her reality. Perrette attended Valdosta State University in Georgia, where she studied criminal justice. She then moved to New York City to study at the John Jay College of Criminal Justice. Perrette told Us Weekly if she wasn’t an actress, she would have become a police officer, security guard, or run a laundromat.
How Pauley Perrette became attracted to crime dramas
Perrette was born in New Orleans in 1969 and raised in the South. She told People magazine she was “completely obsessed” with crime stories when she was a child. She mentioned how she was affected by the murders that were committed in Atlanta from 1979 to 1981.
I lived in Georgia at the time of the Atlanta child murders, and I was around the same age of those kids, and I lived right off the Chattahoochee River. I was very young then, but I was obsessed with that case. Then I got really obsessed with Jonestown. I was way too young to be obsessed with these things, but I would cut out every article — I really don’t like bad guys.
What’s next for Pauley Perrette
It was recently announced the NCIS star will be returning to CBS. However, she won’t be on the hit show. Instead, Perrette will star in a CBS comedy pilot titled Broke, alongside Jamie Camil. Perrette’s new show comes to you by way of Jane the Virgin creator/executive producer Jennie Snyder Urman and Will & Grace executive producer Alex Herschlag, reports Deadline.
