‘NCIS’: What Happened That Left Pauley Perrette Terrified Of Mark Harmon?

NCIS fans are hoping for some big cameos when the series returns for its 17th season next fall.  With Cote de Pablo reprising her role as Ziva, there is a chance that Michael Weatherly will return as Tony DiNozzo as well. But there is one former NCIS star who has no interest in returning to the show.

Taking to Twitter, Pauley Perrette made it loud and clear that she will never return to NCIS, and her decision to stay away from the show has everything to do with her former co-star, Mark Harmon.

Pauley Perrette blasts Mark Harmon on social media

With all the talk of returning characters, fans have been hounding Perrette about reprising her role next season. In response to the talk, Perrette slammed Harmon on Twitter, calling him out for “attacking” her on set. The actress also revealed that she is terrified of the NCIS star and still has nightmares about what happened before she left the series.

“NO I AM NOT COMING BACK! EVER! (Please stop asking?)” Perrette shared. “I am terrified of Harmon and him attacking me. I have nightmares about it.”

Perrette added that she is now on a show that promotes a safe workplace and could not be happier about where she is at. According to USA Today, Pauley Perrette left NCIS because a crew member got attacked by Harmon’s pet dog.

The actress backed up her claims in May of last year, revealing that there was more than one attack on the set of NCIS. CBS issued a statement at the time claiming that they did everything in their power to alleviate Perrette’s concerns.

Pauley Perrette does not back down

Perrette followed up her latest tweet by sharing photos of the crew member’s injuries. The actress posted a few gruesome photos of a crew member’s damaged face, complete with an array of stitches. She then stated that she tried to prevent future attacks and was “physically assaulted” for taking a stand. She also alluded to the idea that she lost her job because of her complaints.

It is unclear how CBS will handle the bombshell tweets, but it is very clear that Perrette will never return to the show that made her famous. Harmon has also remained quiet in light of the tweets, though that will likely change in the coming days. Along with his acting duties on the show, Harmon serves as an executive producer.

Inside Mark Harmon and Pauley Perrette’s beef

The reports of the dog attack are nothing new for anyone who followed Perrette’s exit from NCIS after Season 15. In fact, Perrette has tweeted about the incident in the past, though she was a lot more ambiguous about what happened.

In her previous tweets, the actress never mentioned Harmon by name. She has also only had good things to say about CBS, which suggests that they did attempt to resolve the issue.

Details about the dog attack remain slim, but sources claim that a crew member was bitten by a dog that Harmon brought on set. Instead of keeping the dog away from the workplace, Harmon apparently insisted that his pet did nothing wrong and kept bringing him back to work.

The move angered Perrette, who refused to film scenes with Harmon because she feared for her own safety. In her final season on the show, Harmon and Perrette stopped working on the same days, which is why their characters hardly had any scenes together.

How will Pauley Perrette’s tweets affect next season?

It is anyone’s guess how the network will react to Perrette’s tweets. It is also unclear what set the actress off and why she felt the need to express her concerns over a year after leaving the series.

It will be interesting to see what Harmon has to say about the allegations, especially the accusations that Perrette was physically assaulted on the set of NCIS. Given the nature of Perrette’s tweets, we should hear something from either CBS or Harmon in the coming days.

Pauley Perrette was a part of NCIS for the first 15 seasons.

Production for the new season of NCIS is expected to get underway in a few weeks. Season 17 of the hit crime procedural is scheduled to premiere this coming fall.
