New ‘Blue Bloods’ Video Looks Back at All Those Family Dinners Before Season 10’s Premiere
The family dinner scenes are so important to Blue Bloods fans. That’s because all of the Reagan family members get to talk about their opinions and what is happening with their life.
That tradition will continue with season 10. Blue Bloods released a video looking back at family dinners in the past. Watch the video and find out more about the next season’s premiere.
‘Blue Bloods’ is known for family dinner scenes
Blue Bloods follows a family of police officers, but the thing that fans love is that they have a dinner together every episode. The cast has talked about what it’s like to film those scenes.
“It’s that one event every episode that we get together, and in-between scenes we’re catching up on each other’s lives,” Bridget Moynahan, who plays Erin Reagan, told Country Living. “So that family dinner provides that social life for the cast every single week. It’s like a built-in date. It’s already prescheduled for us!”
The actress went on talk about things that come up during that time. “We’ve had deaths and surgeries and births and marriages,” she continued. “We’ve all gone through major life moments together and shared these moments as a family together over the years. So it really feels like home on and off screen.”
A new person will be at family dinner for season 10
The show is coming back and will start with the 200th episode. It’s a big one and there is going to be a twist on family dinner.
That’s because Lenny Ross (Treat Williams) will be joining the family. Donnie Wahlberg teased this by posting a photo while filming the scene with him on Instagram.
Williams talked about his upcoming appearance with TV Insider. “I was very honored that I was invited to the family dinner,” he said. “No outsider had ever had dinner with the family.”
He said the dynamic will be different because of Lenny. “I don’t think they’re used to somebody being Frank’s equal, being comfortable with Frank to call him nicknames and to give him a hug and to kiss him on a cheek,” he said.
There is a video looking back at previous family dinners
Blue Bloods released a video looking back at the family dinners the Reagans had before. This is all leading up to their 200th episode.
The video is full of little moments from their scenes. One of which was one of their family disagreements. “I strongly disagree with what you say but I defend to the death your right to say it,” said Frank (Tom Selleck.)
There are some lighter moments of course with the family members commenting on the food. Then there is the awkward moment of Nicky (Sami Gayle) revealing she has a tattoo.
Fans are loving the video. “Love the Reagan’s family dinner scenes, my favorite will always be Eddie Janko joining in season 8,” one fan tweeted back. Another replied, “Can’t wait for the season to start on Friday and see more dinner scenes!!”
Season 10 of Blue Bloods premieres Friday, Sept. 27 on CBS at 10/9 CDT.
