Was It Really Love at First Sight For Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas?

Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra have had a whirlwind relationship. The couple only officially dated for six months before tying the knot in an elaborate ceremony in India. The two have hit the pause button when it comes to starting a family, but there was no time wasted when it came to getting married. Was it actually love at first sight for these two?

Jonas knew Chopra was the one the moment he saw her

When Jonas first caught a glimpse of Chopra, he knew she was more beautiful than anyone he’d ever seen before. And after that, he could never get her out of his mind — some might call that love at first sight. He worked up the courage to slide in her DMs, and though that’s not typically a recommended move for landing the woman of your dreams, it worked for Jonas. Chopra replied back and said her team could see the messages they were sending; she then gave him her number and asked him to text her. The two got to know each other, but they officially met in person at an Oscars after party in 2017. Jonas got down on one knee and asked Chopra where she had been all his life.

Chopra wasn’t as convinced of Jonas when she met him

While Jonas knew right away that Chopra was the one, she can’t say the same. Though she was willing to give him a chance, she made it clear that she only had five minutes at the after party to spend with him. This wasn’t the type of thing where they fell in love at the same time and she rearranged all her later plans to be with him. However, Jonas must have left his mark at the party, because just a few months later, they attended the 2017 Met Gala together.

The couple only dated for six months before they wed

Once the couple went public at the Met Gala, things didn’t totally take off — probably because the two had such different schedules. Dating rumors didn’t officially start until nearly a year later in May 2018, when the two were spotted at both a play and a baseball game together over Memorial Day Weekend. And from there, their relationship got off the ground. Jonas basically made it Instagram official when he commented something flirty on Chopra’s Instagram photo. Over the next few months, they went more and more public with their relationship, eventually posting photos of one another. Less than six months later, there were engagement rumors. And by December 2018, the couple had tied the knot in an elaborate ceremony in Chopra’s native India.

They said they’re taking their time with children

Although they sped things along before getting married, they have since hit the brakes on starting a family. Both of them have made it clear that they do want kids, but Jonas said they’re definitely not in a rush. “We’re taking our time,” Jonas said in a recent interview. He added that the couple does think about their future (in terms of kids) when they consider career choices. Right now, it looks like the two are just enjoying being newlyweds.
