How Much is the Octomom Worth?

She quickly became a media fascination following the addition of eight babies to her already full household of six children. Here’s how much Octomom Nadya Suleman is worth.
Suleman struggled to financially support her 14 children. Her desire to bring in money led her to take on several odd jobs, so she could make ends meet. She has worked as a nude model, porn actress, stripper, and celebrity boxer. Although Suleman worked as much as she could, she still wasn’t able to keep her head above water. She lost one of her homes to foreclosure, a La Habra, California, home she paid $453,750 for in 2006, reports CNBC. According to TMZ, she moved out in June 2012.
Nadya says she was forced into porn
Although Suleman worked as a porn actress, she says it wasn’t her choice. She told The New York Times her manager forced her into porn. “I wanted to quit, but my manager said, ‘If you do, I’m reporting you to welfare for fraud.’ I gave my bank account to her to control because I was so overwhelmed and busy managing my family. Checks that were forged — minimum $60,000 was stolen in six months. And she was selling stories left and right. She was a predator,” she told the Times.
Nadya Suleman filed for bankruptcy
Times continued to be rough for Suleman. In 2012 she had to file for bankruptcy. In a court filing she said she was burdened with as much as $1 million in debt, reports The Oregonian. Suleman said in a statement that filing for bankruptcy was in her children’s best interest, according to the Orange County Register. “I have had to make some very difficult decisions this year, and filing Chapter 7 was one of them,” Suleman told the Orange County Register. “But I have to do what is best for my children, and I need a fresh start.”

Suleman owed money to a long list people and organizations, reports the Orange County Register. She owed money to her father, Ed Doud; the city of La Habra’s water department; DirecTV; Whittier Christian School; Verizon Wireless; Southern California Edison; a gardener; and the Department of Motor Vehicles. The publication found she also owed more than $30,000 to the previous owner of her four-bedroom, three-bathroom home.
