Will Olivia Jade Drop Out of the University of Southern California?
Social media hasn’t been kind to Lori Loughlin’s youngest daughter, Olivia Jade. Ever since the college admissions scandal broke, Olivia Jade’s social media accounts have been inundated with negative comments. Commenters are calling for her to be expelled from the University of Southern California and are expressing anger over the way some rich people are able to bypass the traditional admissions process at the nation’s top schools. Will Olivia Jade crumble under the pressure and drop out of school?
Olivia Jade said she isn’t interested in school
In one of her YouTube posts (as of this writing the video has been deleted), Olivia Jade said she wasn’t all that interested in going to school. The YouTube star said she was more excited about parties and game days than attending classes. “I don’t know how much of school I’m gonna attend, but I’m gonna go in and talk to my deans and everyone and hope that I can try and balance it all,” said Olivia Jade in her YouTube video. “I do want the experience of like game days, partying. I don’t really care about school, as you guys all know,” she continued.
In another YouTube video Olivia Jade apologized for her comments and said she didn’t mean to make such thoughtless comments. “I said something super ignorant and stupid,” said Olivia Jade in her apology video. “It totally came across that I’m not grateful for college. I’m going to a really nice school, and it just kind of made it seem like I don’t care,” she continued. It’s possible this video came after receiving a warning from her brand partners or her parents. We’re not sure, but it looks like she made the video to protect her endorsements. Her plan didn’t work, however, as some of Olivia Jade’s partners (Sephora and Tresseme), severed ties after the college admissions scandal broke.
Will Olivia Jade drop out of the University of California?
Considering all the negative media attention Olivia Jade has received, it wouldn’t be surprising if she decided to quit school. Her focus has been more on fashion, beauty, and lifestyle, so her next step might be to leave school and start a business or focus on her YouTube channel. Olivia Jade wouldn’t be the first person in her family to drop out of USC. Her father, Mossimo Giannulli, reportedly dropped out of USC back in 1987. The former architecture student decided to leave college so he could start his fashion brand. He borrowed $100,000 from his father and started his business in a garage, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
What’s going on with Olivia Jade’s sister, Isabella Rose?
It looks like Isabella might be more focused on pursuing an acting career. In an interview with Salon, Loughlin said her eldest daughter, Isabella, wants to be an actress. “She just finished her first year of college and she really enjoys it and I think she’ll get her degree,” said Loughlin. “And I just said to her, ‘Look, have some back-up plan. Get a degree and something else. You can study theater [and] whatever you need to also at school.’ I think I’ve shown her and presented all the pitfalls that there might be.”
