How Olivia Jade became famous

Olivia Jade was born on Sept. 28, 1999. She rose to fame after setting up her lifestyle YouTube channel and Instagram account. As her following grew, fashion and cosmetics brands linked up with the social media star so they could promote their products.

Olivia Jade’s mother, Full House star Lori Loughlin, was among roughly 50 people accused of participating in a college admissions fraud scheme. Loughlin and her husband, Mossimo Giannulli, later pled guilty to paying college officials $500,000 to help Olivia Jade and her sister, Isabella Rose, get into the University of Southern California.

What is Olivia Jade’s net worth?

Olivia Jade has made most of her money from being a YouTube and Instagram star. Her lifestyle channel boasts roughly 1.9 million YouTube followers and her Instagram page has about 1.3 million followers. The focus of her channels is on fashion and makeup. Olivia Jade has several product endorsement deals and uses her social media accounts to promote brands such as SmileDirectClub and Amazon Prime Student. The social media star said she used Amazon Prime student to furnish her dorm room. “Officially a college student! It’s been a few weeks since I moved into my dorm and I absolutely love it. I got everything I needed from Amazon with @primestudent and had it all shipped to me in just two-days,” she wrote on what appears to be a now-deleted Instagram post.

One of Olivia Jade’s sources of income was an Instagram partnership with Sephora. In December 2018, the cosmetics company released the Olivia Jade X Sephora Bronze & Illuminate Palette. However, shortly after the scandal, Sephora severed ties with the YouTuber. At the same time, Olivia Jade also had a partnership with Tresemme, and promotes their products on her accounts from time to time.

These days, Olivia Jade has a net worth of about $1 million, according to The Cinemaholic.

Olivia Jade is still thriving on social media

Olivia Jade built her career on beauty, fashion, and stories about her life at the University of California. Part of her branding was based on the fact she was a college student. However, once the allegations came to light, her brand took a significant hit. Since Loughlin, Desperate Housewives actress Felicity Huffman, and other high-profile parents served prison time in the college admissions scheme, Jade took a lengthy social media break until the scandal cooled off.

Jade lost most of her brand partnerships after the scandal broke. In addition to Sephora, HP announced it severed its relationship with Olivia Jade, reports Variety. “HP worked with Lori Loughlin and Olivia Jade in 2017 for a one-time product campaign. HP has removed the content from its properties,” said the company in a statement. However, after taking time off social media, Jade slowly came back to post more videos. She started with a video discussing the anxiety she felt about returning to the spotlight, and she turned off her Instagram comments for months after coming back to the platform. Now, though, Jade has continued to win back her fans; she now allows comments on her social posts and has fully returned to running her social media accounts.
