‘Outlander’ Season 5: All-New Photos Have Been Released

Outlander season 5 will be here before you know it, and fans are looking for any teases they can find about the upcoming season. Luckily, a new trailer has been released along with some new photos. There are spoilers ahead for season 5 of Outlander.

‘Outlander’ season 5 has a new trailer

At New York Comic-Con, fans got a better look at the new season. If you haven’t seen the trailer yet, check it out above. Claire Fraser (Caitriona Balfe) seems to be blaming herself for the turmoil her family is facing. She grapples with whether they will be safer in the future, and she isn’t the only one. There are also major preparations being made for the impending battle to come.

It looks like members of the Fraser clan will be struggling with the choice to stay or go back to their time where it may be safer. “It’s my fault that you’re all here, fighting the dangers of the Carolina wilderness,” Claire says.

A few of the main characters are already aware of the American Revolutionary War on the horizon. It seems like another Culloden situation could happen between Claire and Jamie. “When this war you’ve told me about eventually comes, it would be safer in your time,” Jamie (Sam Heughan) says to his wife.

Brianna (Sophie Skelton) tries to convince Roger (Richard Rankin) that they need to stay where their family is. “Our family is here,” says Brianna in the new trailer.

Starz also took the time to reveal some new photos that are hot off the press. Brianna and her man Roger are together again and getting in some much-needed target practice. Roger points a rifle off in the distance and Brianna shows him how to aim. He’s clearly not ready for what’s to come.

In another image, Claire and Jamie ride off on separate horses as people watch them depart. Where could they be going? Another image is of Jamie and Lord John Grey (David Berry) and they appear to be sharing a drink and catching up.

Another heartfelt image shows Jamie alongside Murtagh (Duncan Lacroix) once again. It looks like Jamie will of course not be following through with his orders to kill Murtagh. The two will be meeting up at some point, maybe to join sides.

There’s also an image of Claire and her daughter Brianna. Claire has just performed surgery on someone, and from the look of worry on her face, it didn’t go well. Brianna embraces her mother who has literal blood on her hands.

The final new image is of Roger and Jocasta (Maria Doyle Kennedy) along with Ulysses (Colin McFarlane). Roger and Jocasta appear to be affectionately holding hands.

Claire and Jamie’s love will grow this season

Members of the cast and crew attended the Outlander panel at New York Comic-Con and answered questions. Balfe and Heughan were joined by Duncan Lacroix (Murtagh), David Berry (Lord John Grey), and Maria Doyle Kennedy (Jocasta). The cast was also joined by the executive producers Ronald D. Moore and Maril Davis, as well as the writer of the books the series is based on, Diana Gabaldon.

Balfe talked about the feelings her character has for Jamie and how fans will get to see their love grow even more in the new season. “It’s so wonderful to be able to play a relationship that keeps growing and deepening, and that’s something you see this season,” Balfe said. “The love they have for each other keeps expanding. It’s just their knowledge of each other and how intimately they know what’s going on inside each other.” Heughan responded by saying, “We had a scene the other day where we made love without making love!”
