‘Outlander’ Season 5: Will There Be a Wedding? You Won’t Believe What the Evidence Suggests
Fans can’t wait to find out how the upcoming season of Outlander will all play out. There’s been speculation that a wedding could take place in season 5, and fans are wondering if that’s true or not. Who would be getting married and what does the evidence suggest? Read on for spoilers for season 5.
The next book may have the answer
The next book, The Fiery Cross, holds two surprise weddings. Since the new season will follow the book by Diana Gabaldon, it’s safe to say a wedding will be in the future. Some fans speculate that the wedding will be between Brianna (Sophie Skelton) and Roger (Richard Rankin) in an attempt to legitimize their handfast ceremony that happened in season 4, which served as in informal form of marriage. It makes sense that they may want to make things really official surrounded by family and friends now that they have a child to raise.
The cast confirmed that there will be a wedding in season 5
The cast of Outlander revealed that there will in fact be a wedding in season 5 to Entertainment Tonight at New York Comic-Con. The members of the cast were asked about the weddings in the fifth book. Maria Doyle Kennedy, who plays Jocasta Cameron, revealed that there will be a wedding to come. “There’s definitely a wedding,” she revealed.
Sam Heughan, who plays Jamie Fraser, also agreed that a wedding is coming in season 5. “Yes, there’s definitely a wedding,” he revealed. Could the wedding be a renewal of vows between Claire (Caitriona Balfe) and Jamie (Heughan)? It sounds like a possibility to hear Heughan tease what might occur. “Maybe we renew our vows,” he continued. “I don’t know! Maybe! Who knows?”
A new image might reveal who will be getting married
Some new images have been released of the upcoming season. EW showed off the new photos which included a sweet image of Claire (Balfe) and Jamie (Heughan) dressed up and smiling like proud parents would be. Apparently, there will be a wedding where anyone who is of any importance will be in attendance. This includes Lord John Grey (David Berry) and Royal Gov. William Tryon (Tim Downie) as well.
Since both Bree and Roger are absent from the image, it makes sense that it’s the two of them getting married. Accompanied by the look of happiness on Claire and Jamie’s faces, it could be none other than their daughter getting married at the grand occasion.
When will season 5 of ‘Outlander’ premiere?
There isn’t much longer to wait in the last few months of Droughtlander. Outlander season 5 will premiere on February 16, 2020. It seems to be appropriately timed to be two days after Valentine’s Day. Fans can’t wait to check back in with the Fraser clan. A wedding is certainly in the future for the series and it only makes sense that it will be between Bree and Roger. Let’s face it, the two deserve happiness after everything that went down in season 4. Hopefully, they’ll be able to steal some moments as a family before the American Revolutionary War happens.
Fans will hopefully get the answers they need when Outlander season 5 premieres.
