‘Outlander’: Why Fans Are Worried the Next Droughtlander Will Be Even Longer
Fans of Outlander are so happy to be in an all-new season of Outlander bliss. With episode 11 of season 5 on the horizon, it already has some fans dreading droughtlander, which is sure to arrive the minute the last episode of the season arrives. Read on to learn what fans are saying.
With only a few episodes left in the season, fans are worried about droughtlander
Episode 12 will be the end of the season, so that means only two episodes are left for fans to kick back and enjoy. Reddit has been buzzing since the new season started and recently a user asked an important question.
“Is anyone else worried Outlander is going to end with a cliffhanger followed by an extra-long droughtlander thanks to COVID?” a Reddit user asked.
Why fans are so worried
Since the coronavirus (COVID-19) has led to many people practicing social distancing, some fans are worried that it could possibly lead to the time in-between seasons lasting even longer than usual. Viewers seem to agree that this is a real possibility that they don’t want to face.
One fan says it’s going to be an 18-month-long droughtlander at least. A major part of some fans’ weeks is to go to Reddit to discuss the episode, so not being able to do that for a while puts a damper on things during this time of quarantine.
“Yes. I think we’re looking at an 18-month or so hiatus which stinks. I really enjoy it so much. Not only the show but the discussions during the week and it’s a good distraction from the current state of things,” the user said.
Another Reddit user thinks it’s looking more like two years until we get season 6, which could be really hard to take for some fans.
“I think it could be two years or so until we get another season,” a user speculated.
‘Outlander’ can’t do episodes over Zoom
Fans seem to be in agreement that droughtlander is going to be extra long this time around. They’re already dreading it with two more episodes left in the season. It’s not like Outlander has the luxury of doing episodes via Zoom or some other platform.
“Yeah, it’s gonna be a while. I think 18 months is the bare minimum. It’s not like there’s any way to do an episode over Zoom,” a fan admitted.
Numerous fans seem to agree that droughtlander is going to be extra long in-between seasons 5 and 6. It will be a hard time for everyone, but we’ll make it through. There are still two glorious episodes to go before season 5 concludes, so it’s not over just yet. Let’s hope droughtlander doesn’t last as long as some fans predict it will.
