Patrick Mahomes’ Girlfriend Says Patriots Fans Harassed Her During Football Game: Security Had to Move Her to ‘Safe Place’

Brittany Matthews, the girlfriend of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback, Patrick Mahomes, says fans of the opposing team harassed her on Dec. 8, 2019, when the Chiefs went on the road to face off against the New England Patriots led by Tom Brady at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass.

Matthews, 23, live-tweeted at various times throughout the day to share what happened. Although the game got off to a poor start for Matthews, she left happy because the Chiefs defeated the Patriots and ended their 21-game winning streak at home. Not to mention they clinched the AFC West.

Harassment began when fans recognized Matthews

Matthews had been watching the game with her boyfriend’s brother, Jackson Mahomes, and said the harassment began after they were recognized by fans, according to People.

“As soon as we sit down, drunk dude ‘hey everyone this is Patrick Mahomes girl and brother, let’s give them s–t,’” she tweeted.

Later she shared her frustrations about getting yelled at every time either she or Jackson stood up to cheer on the Chiefs.

She wrote: “This place is horrible, people already yelling every time I stand up, am I not [allowed] to stand up for football game?”

Matthews tweeted again: “I was told if I stand they will call security and kick us out, can’t stand for your team?”

Security moved them ‘to a safe place’

Less than an hour later, Matthews let her Twitter followers know stadium security had seen what transpired. They went to where they were sitting and brought them to another area of the stadium to watch the rest of the game.

“Gillette security came and got us and moved us to a safe place 🙌🏼 that’s how you know it was bad🤔🤔,” Matthews tweeted.

Mahomes’ brother, Jackson, tweeted about the ordeal too. He sent the following tweet to his followers: “Patriots fans are rude as h**l!!”

Following the game, Matthews took to Twitter again to celebrate her team’s win.

“All patriots fans ‘we still have 6 Super Bowls’ Lololol Once Patrick has been in the league as long as Brady, then chat to me about Super Bowls! Patrick is 24, Brady is 42🤔 you just wait👏🏼👏🏼,” she wrote.

Matthews: ‘These fans will NEVER keep me away’

After the game, Matthews shared a series of pictures on Instagram with her 215,000 followers. In one post where she’s standing on the sidelines, she said she’d endure the fans no matter what.

“I’m here & these fans will NEVER keep me away 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 #chiefskingdom,” she captioned the post.

She later added to the caption giving her followers an update about what happened with security: “Gillette security [sic] came and got us said, ‘we have cameras everywhere and we have seen you getting harassed so we are gonna move you to a safe section!’”

In subsequent posts, Matthews shared two snapshots of herself with her boyfriend after the game.
