Pete Davidson Returns To Social Media Thanks To His Tour With John Mulaney

Fans got a small glimpse of Pete Davidson on Instagram today after the comedian posted tour dates with John Mulaney. Davidson removed his social media footprint after constantly being attacked and harassed while he was engaged to singer Ariana Grande.

His return to social media is yet another positive step into the Saturday Night Live star’s road to recovery and happiness. After an extremely dark period in his life, Davidson seems to be coming out of the shadows thanks to the support and love from his friends.

Davidson has been on tour with Mulaney for the past few months and fans in cities in the northeast are clamoring for tickets. Now they can hopefully receive updates from the man himself.

This is why he stopped using social media

Grande fans didn’t hold back when it came to their queen. They weren’t overly thrilled about the couple’s engagement and came for Davidson on social media. At one point fans referred to Davidson as “trash” and even took jabs at his appearance.

Even worse, fans dogged Davidson for dealing with a mental illness. Fans called him toxic and Davidson found himself explaining that all people have the right to be happy.  “Mental illness is not a joke.” And it is a real thing. Kids are out there killing themselves, and it is horrific,” Davidson wrote in a now deleted post.

When the couple split, Davidson was continously hunted. He got to the point where he issued such a terrifying message on Instagram, he ended up backing away from all social media completely. “I really don’t want to be on this Earth anymore,” Davidson wrote in a now deleted post. “I’m doing my best to stay here for you but I actually don’t know how much longer I can last. All I’ve ever tried to do was help people. Just remember I told you so,” Vulture reported.

He got a little help from his friends

Davidson deleted all of his social media after the scary post. He made limited appearances on SNL for a while as he worked on healing. During that time, he began to form a strong bond with Mulaney. The two knew each other previously but began to hang out more often.

The guys created a comedy tour called Sundays with Pete and John and Mulaney often posts updates to his Instagram, along with funny photos of the guys. They swapped personas for one show where Davidson appeared in a Mulaney signature suit. Meanwhile, Mulaney found baggy pants and sloppy clothing to deliver his set.

Little by little the funnyman made a comeback. Davidson’s appeared in more sketches on SNL, especially when Mulaney was hosting or starring in a guest role. He also proudly wore matching t-shirts designed by Mulaney’s wife when Mulaney recently hosted.

Fans are thrilled to see Davidson back on social media

Davidson uploaded two totally blank posts to Instagram and one crazy/funny short video to another. Even the posts with no image or text got thousands of likes. The post with the video received more than 50,000 likes in less than an hour.

Davidson wrote “April 14 – Providence, RI @ Providence PAC, April 26 – Easton, PA @ State Theatre for the Arts, April 28 – Baltimore, MD @ Meyehoff Symphony Hall – w/ @johnmulaney See ya there.” This simple statement produced a geyser of happy fan comments.

Plenty of comments were from thrilled fans, happy to see Davidson back on social media. “love u pete,” one person wrote. “Yay glad you are back!” another commented. Others begged the comedian to bring his show to their town.
