Fans React to Arrest of ‘Pioneer Woman’ Ree Drummond’s Daughter: ‘Hollywood Destroys Families!’
It looks like there’s some trouble on the Drummond ranch. Paige Drummond, the daughter of The Pioneer Woman star Ree Drummond, got into a bit of trouble with the law. Here’s what we know about the arrest and how fans reacted to the shocking news.
Why Paige Drummond was arrested
Ree’s daughter, who is 19 years old as of this writing, was arrested for the possession and consumption of alcohol, reports to E! News. According to court documents obtained by E!, Paige was charged with possession of alcohol by a person under 21 years of age and public intoxication. The court records indicate the incident took place in April in Oklahoma. Paige was reportedly charged and taken to jail.
E! News reports the court documents say the district attorney wrote that Paige “did appear in a drunken condition” during her arrest. A crime like this could result in up to one year in jail and a fee up to $500. However, it appears Paige asked for the arrest and court records to be expunged, reports E! News. The request was approved by the district attorney.
Fans couldn’t believe the news about Paige Drummond
Fans were shocked to hear Ree’s daughter had a brush with the law. Ree and her family have a squeaky clean image, so it was hard for her fans to believe what happened. One Instagram commenter was so surprised she opened her message in all caps. “NOT PAAAAAIGE. How could this happen? Beer is the devil’s work. Hollywood destroys families!” the fan wrote.
Some came to Paige’s Defense
Paige is coming under a lot of fire, but she still has some supporters. Although some fans were critical of Ree’s daughter, others defended her. One fan reminded the other commenters on Instagram that they likely drank during their younger years, so they shouldn’t cast stones at Paige. “Pipe down about Paige. Who Didn’t drink in their teenage years? Geezzz.” Some said they feel bad for Paige. Since she is young and in the public eye, she has to be careful about what she does. “I feel so bad for her. The rules now days. My kids are her age. I just hate it. The drinking age was 18 for me. Not everyone is judging in a bad light.”
Another Pioneer Woman fan complimented Ree on the job she’s doing as a mother. “I don’t have children and can’t quite relate, but you sound like an absolutely wonderful mother who raised some amazing children,” she wrote.
