Plastic Surgery Changed These Real Housewives’ Faces Forever

Plastic surgery is commonplace within the Real Housewives franchise. From breast augmentation to fillers, the ladies have done it all.

While many of the ladies stick to traditional surgeries, others have turned to unconventional methods in the name of beauty too. Heather Dubrow and her plastic surgeon husband Terry famously gave themselves leech treatments because, “The leech therapy brightens your skin, tightens your skin, and gives you a youthful glow,” Heather told cast member, Vicki Gunvalson, Glamour recounts. Yuck.

But for the most part, injections, surgeries, and laser treatments have become another “character” on the series. Some women have had minimal work or use a lot of makeup (and good lighting), whereas others may have taken surgery too far. Whose had so much surgery they almost look like a different person?

Armstrong allegedly had to undergo reconstructive surgery to her face after being beaten by her husband Russel, Daily Mail reports. Armstrong also appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show and said, “I got new lips and new breasts and changed my hair. It was anything I could do to try to become someone else,” People recounts.

Other rumored tweaks include an upper eyelid blepharoplasty, Juvéderm or Restylane and maybe a browlift, according to OK Magazine.

Williams had a non-surgical nose job that really changed her appearance. She posted a video to her Instagram page that showed how the procedure is done. Williams’ surgeon, Dr. Simon Ourian said the injections of a hyaluronic acid filler would “enhance the shape of a small bridge of the nose,” E! News reports.

Gunvalson says she regrets how far she went with plastic surgery, according to ET. The lower facelift she recently had was the turning point that led Gunvalson to just say no. “Some people were saying my promo pictures didn’t look like me. It didn’t. I was puffy, and I was — I didn’t feel like I was myself. They do the cheekbones, and we gotta inject here, gotta bring the jawline down. Just, stop! I want everything out of my skin. I want to be back to, you know, being a 56-year-old and looking the best I can be. Then they tightened my neck. My neck’s got no more wrinkles! I feel great.”

Other procedures include Botox, filler, and possibly Juvéderm, according to Life and Style Magazine. She’s also had a chin implant, thinned her nose and had body fat injected into her face, according to US Weekly.

Lisa Rinna

Rinna’s most obvious change is her expanding lips. She had Juvéderm injections when she was young and said this on The Today Show, “Here’s the story: 25 years ago, I had my lips injected with silicone,” US Weekly recounts. “Stupid thing to do at 24. … So then cut to a couple of years ago, I have a doctor remove as much as they possibly can because it got to the point where they were yucky.”

Kyle Richards

One of the most noticeable changes to Richards’ appearance is her nose. She told US Magazine her nose bothered her for a long time, Bravo The Daily Dish reports. And said, “The surgery made me feel better.” She had the nose job about 12 years ago but the new nose really changed her entire face.

Bethenny Frankel

Frankel claims surgery was performed to correct chronic TMJ and admits it changed her face shape, specifically her jawline. “I had my jaw injected with Botox because I have TMJ, and if you look at pictures of me from probably like seven years ago, it’s gradually gotten smaller to the point that I had to stop, and now it actually hurts again,” People reports.

Although Frankel insists she only had Botox, plastic surgeon Susan Evans told Radar Online, “She appears to have had Maxillofacial surgery where they break the jaw muscles. This type of surgery is very invasive and traumatic.” Another surgeon believes Frankel appears to have had an eye lift too.

NeNe Leaks

The Real Housewives of Atlanta cast member admits to having multiple nose jobs, according to Bravo The Daily Dish. Her first surgery occurred in 2010, but the second rhinoplasty was for a “medical reason.”

“My cartilage was growing in my nose, and my tip was touching the top of my lip,” she said to Andy Cohen. “But I didn’t get a full rhinoplasty the first time. No, when I did the first time, I only had my nostrils taken in on the side the very first time, and then this time, I had more cartilage moved around in my nose.”

Shannon Beador

While Beador is contemplating plastic surgery following massive weight loss, she’s had other procedures on her face in the past. She’s allegedly had Botox, fillers, a nose job and possibly a chin implant, according to Radar Online. One plastic surgeon told Radar Online he thinks Beador went overboard with fillers saying, “It appears to be a little too much for her narrow face.”

Zarin appears to be aging backward since leaving The Real Housewives of New York City. When Zarin made a guest appearance on the show last year, she looked almost unrecognizable, People reports. While Zarin insists she didn’t have any work done, she dropped this hint to looking so young. “Well [dermatologist] Pat Wexler — I’ve been saying it since the day I started seeing her. Also, Allyson [Shapiro] pointed out that I had a breast reduction after season 2 or 3, and I appeared to lose weight,”

She attributes her fresh look to wearing less makeup and styling her hair differently–all thanks to advice from former BFF Bethenny Frankel.

Kathy Wakile

The New Jersey housewife says a formerly broken nose inspired her to go under the knife, according to Daily Mail. “I broke it twice, so it was time to get rid of it. Once in Italy playing soccer, and once playing softball. I’m not athletic,” she said to Andy Cohen. She also had her lips done too.
