Rollo will return
Clive Standen, who plays Rollo, confirmed to Express.co.uk that his character would be around for a while in 2018. When he was asked if he would appear in season 6, he had a cryptic answer, “Well,
Fans are pretty sure Standen will return, and it appears that social media may hold the answer. Standen posted on his Instagram account a picture of himself and Katheryn Winnick, who plays Lagertha. “This one’s always had my back! #Vikings,” he captioned the photo. It looks like he will be returning for the final season.
The ‘Vikings’ will continue raiding new lands
As was the Viking way, they will continue to raid and conquer lands in the new season. They may go to Russia, as others have predicted already based on images shared on the actors’ social media accounts. It would be very intriguing to see the Vikings explore even more cultures and different ways of life on the series.
Ivar the Boneless will change
Vikings creator Michael Hirst spoke to Variety about the upcoming season and how Ivar the Boneless (Alex Høgh Andersen) will ultimately change in unexpected ways. It sounds like fans will be in for some surprises from Ivar’s character.
“There have been some comments that Ivar is a little two-dimensional and that he hasn’t got any secrets left, or that he’s not as interesting as Ragnar was,” explained Hirst. “The fact is that we’re going to learn a lot more about Ivar in Season 6. We’re going to see other aspects of his character and things we didn’t expect from him. I’m very pleased with the way his character deepens and changes. He’s still Ivar and he’s still unpredictable…in many ways. But we do see these other aspects in him emerging.”
Lagertha will be killed
The Seer (John Kavanagh) prophesied the death of Lagertha at the hands of a son of Ragnar (Travis Fimmel), who was also her ex-husband and father to her son. Everything that the Seer has foreseen previously on the show has come to pass, including the fact that Lagertha would never have another child, and that a woman, Lagertha herself, would be the queen of Kattegat. A possible leaked image of the shieldmaiden and queen was posted to Reddit, apparently showing a Viking funeral for Lagertha. This means that she will meet her death in the final season.
The sixth season of Vikings will be an end to an era. Most of us aren’t looking forward to
