Prince Andrew Was Not Allowed to Appear in Princess Beatrice’s Official Wedding Photos

Not even a global pandemic could stop a royal wedding. Prince Andrew and Sarah, Duchess of York’s eldest daughter, Princess Beatrice got married in a surprise ceremony on July 17 at St George’s Chapel in Windsor. It was the same wedding location as the Sussexes and Princess Beatrice’s sister, Princess Eugenie. However, the princess’s father, Prince Andrew was not allowed to appear in her official wedding photos.

Princess Beatrice married Italian property developer Edo Mapelli Mozzi in a surprise wedding ceremony with just 20 guests. The guests including Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Philp, the couple’s parents and siblings, and Mozzi’s young son, Wolfie, who acted as the best man and pageboy at the wedding.

The wedding was beautiful, but it was not at all the bigger event that the couple had planned and was forced to cancel. Prince Andrew’s absence from the official photos was also noticeable.

The British royal family is distancing themselves from Prince Andrew

Since his appalling interview regarding his connections to late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein with BBC News Night, the prince has been on the outs with the royal family. Shortly after the interview in November 2019, the prince stepped away from royal life.

Rumors have swirled that the Duke of York refuses to cooperate with the FBI. Now, the spotlight has turned on him once again with allegations that he a; so sexually abused a young girl amid the arrest of Epstein’s former girlfriend and confidant, Ghislaine Maxwell. The royals have been distancing themselves from Prince Andrew as well.

The royal family has deleted Prince Andrew’s royal website. It now links back to the royal family site (royal.uk).

Prince Andrew walked Princess Beatrice down the aisle

Prince Andrew has been keeping a low-profile for the most part especially following news that he does appear on Epstein’s infamous tapes. However, he did walk his daughter down the aisle.

An insider told Daily Mail that the princess had been isolating with her family at their York lodge estate so that her father would be able to walk her down the aisle safely, even though the ceremony was private.

Buckingham Palace released a statement saying, ‘”The small ceremony was attended by The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh and close family. The wedding took place in accordance with all relevant Government guidelines.” There was no party or reception following the wedding.

Prince Andrew was not allowed to appear in Princess Beatrice’s official wedding photos

When the palace released official photos of Princess Beatrice’s wedding, her father was notably absent from them. In one photo the happy couple can be seen walking through a flower-covered archway.

In another photo, the newlyweds are standing a safe distance away from Prince Philip and the queen. With more scrutiny surrounding Maxwell, the royals did not want to take away from the princess’ special day by posting a photo of the Duke of York.

Town & Country is reporting that the prince’s deliberate absence means that “he no longer belongs as a public face of the British monarchy.”
