Prince George and Princess Charlotte Will Finally Get to Do This 1 Major Royal Tradition This Christmas

Christmas Day is one of the few times of the year that all of the royals gather together at the same place, and this year, Prince George and Princess Charlotte will be able to take part in a tradition that goes back generations. With Prince Harry and Meghan Markle celebrating the holidays in America, Prince William and Kate Middleton are expected to bring their two oldest children to the family’s annual Christmas Day church service. This should give fans the perfect opportunity for an adorable family photo and also allows George and Charlotte to share in the fun.

Prince George and Princess Charlotte to attend Christmas Day service

The royal family’s Christmas Day service is one of the best times of the year to snap a group photo. Last year, for instance, we got some great shots of William, Kate, Harry, and Meghan as they made their way to the church doors.

Sadly, we will not get a chance to see the Fab Four in action this year, as Harry and Meghan are spending the holidays with her mother, Doria Ragland, in California. But it sounds like we might be in for another treat instead.

According to Vanity Fair, inside sources claim that Prince George and Princess Charlotte will be joining William and Kate as they walk to St. Mary Magdalene Church on Christmas Day. The couple has kept their oldest two children away from the spotlight in recent years, but they are now old enough for the special occasion.

“It will be so sweet. George and Charlotte will make their Christmas debut, as long as they’re both on good form on the day,” the insider shared. “The royals walking to church on Christmas Day is a rite of passage and so William and Kate didn’t want to expose their children too early, but they feel they’re old enough now.”

Prince George and Princess Charlotte are around the same age as other royals who have made their debut on Christmas Day. This includes William and Harry, who were five and four years old, respectively, when they joined their parents for the big day.

Will Prince William and Kate Middleton’s children be a welcome distraction?

Prince George and Princess Charlotte are usually very playful when they get in front of the cameras, so they should ham things up on Christmas Day. For the royals, their presence should offer a welcome distraction from all the recent drama.

The royal family has been dealing with a number of different scandals in recent months. This includes Harry and Meghan opening up about their struggles in a recent documentary, Harry & Meghan: An African Journey.

But the family’s biggest sore spot has been Prince Andrew. Throughout the year, Andrew has fought rumors surrounding his ties to the disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein. He recently tried to clear his name in a public interview, which completely backfired and led to his resignation.

To make things worse, Prince Andrew is expected to make an appearance on Christmas Day with the rest of the royal family. Needless to say, this is not making things any easier for Queen Elizabeth.

Prince George’s Christmas list

Before Prince George and Princess Charlotte appear on Christmas Day, the duo will be opening up presents with the rest of the royal family on Christmas Eve.

Ahead of the big gift exchange, William opened up about how Prince George knows exactly what he wants from Father Christmas this year.

“George has already written his list for Father Christmas,” William explained. “He loves his drawing – he’s a very good drawer. We might get him something for drawing.”

Prince William added that they might also get something related to football (soccer). George is apparently a big fan of the sport, though William does not approve that his favorite team is Chelsea.

That said, the family was spotted at a match back in October and Prince George was rocking an Aston Villa shirt at the time. So perhaps William’s influence is stronger than he thinks.

Prince William and Kate Middleton meet Mary Berry

While royal watchers wait to see Prince George and Princess Charlotte on Christmas Day, William and Kate got an early Christmas present when they appeared with Mary Berry for a special holiday cooking series.

The show, called A Berry Royal Christmas, featured the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge teaming up with the celebrity baker to cook her favorite holiday dishes. They also visited a few charities in the areas, which is par for the course for the royals.

In the segment, Kate revealed that William does cook for her from time to time and that his specialty is breakfast. He also used to try and impress her with his cooking when they were in college, which is about as adorable as it gets.

Kate Middleton went on to say that Prince George and Princess Charlotte like to help her in the kitchen and they tried Mary Berry’s pizza recipe and absolutely loved it.
