Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Are So Good At Keeping Secrets, We Still Haven’t Figured Out These Mysteries Yet
Yes, they’re part of the royal family. But Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are determined to live life as privately as possible, keeping the most sacred parts of themselves (and their son) hidden from prying eyes. This may not be a realistic goal — Prince Charles even told Harry he’s “not normal” and should stop pretending — but that doesn’t mean they’re giving up on staying secretive.
With public interest at an all-time high and photographers following the Duke and Duchess of Sussex everywhere they go, it’s frankly amazing that they’re able to keep any secrets at all. But somehow, this royal couple has managed to keep a few things hidden over the years.
Here’s what we still don’t know about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
No one knows where they went on their honeymoon
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle shared a few blissful months under the radar before taking their relationship public and subjecting themselves to media scrutiny. After that announcement, nothing was ever the same again — which was both good and bad.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex got married on May 19, 2018 in a grand royal wedding ceremony, even inviting members of the public to witness it. But they didn’t exhibit the same openness with their honeymoon. Even a year later, no one is exactly sure where Prince Harry and Meghan Markle went on vacation after the wedding.
Some sources think they had a low-key getaway in Canada. Others believe they headed to Botswana for a more exotic trip. But besides Harry, Meghan, and a few close friends and family, no one knows for sure.
Archie’s godparents are still a mystery
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have inspired so much criticism with just about everything they’ve done so far, proving definitively that you can’t please everyone. One of the biggest scandals happened at the time of their son Archie Harrison’s baptism. First, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex opted to keep the ceremony private. But then they took it one step further and confirmed they were keeping the godparent identities secret, too.
“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex look forward to sharing some images taken on the day by photographer Chris Allerton. The godparents, in keeping with their wishes, will remain private,” Buckingham Palace said in a statement.
To this day, no one (except for members of the inner circle) knows who Archie’s godparents are.
Who is the mystery person who introduced Meghan to Harry?
During their engagement interview, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle shared that they’d been set up on a blind date by a mutual friend. However, the identity of that person remains a secret.
“Because I’m from the States, you don’t grow up with the same understanding of the royal family,” Markle explained during a BBC interview. “I didn’t know much about him, so the only thing that I had asked [our mutual friend] when she said that she wanted to set us up, was, ‘Well is he nice?’ Cause if he wasn’t kind, it just didn’t seem like it would make sense.”
The couple and even the whole world owe this mystery person a lot for setting up the introduction. But as long as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex stay secretive, we may never know who to thank!
