Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Are Still Considering Moving To L.A., Even After This Gift From Prince Charles
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle might be on the move. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are reportedly thinking about moving to Los Angeles, despite being offered a massive gift from Harry’s father, Prince Charles. What are the chances that Harry and Markle move to the states to be closer to her mother, Doria Ragland?
Prince Charles gives Prince Harry an estate
Now that Harry has a family of his own, the royals are doing everything in their power to ensure his children have an estate. To that end, Charles is allegedly thinking about giving Harry’s son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, a place of his own in Hertfordshire.
Nothing official has been announced, but it is believed that Charles has already set aside land so that Archie can eventually set up an estate of his own. The only problem with the plan is that Harry and Markle are thinking about relocating to L.A.
“In the 1980s, it was decided baby Harry would one day have a family and want to build an estate,” an insider dished. “Charles has discussed Herefordshire, thinking he’d love it.”
According to Express, Prince Harry has shown zero interest in moving to Hertfordshire, which is located near the Wales border. Instead, the Duke of Sussex has been focusing on his new home, Frogmore Cottage, and continuing the renovations. Harry and Markle moved into Frogmore Cottage a few months before Archie’s birth.
Years back, Charles reportedly thought Harry would settle down with someone who wanted to remain in the U.K. and who would be thrilled to settle down in Hertfordshire. Given how Markle’s mother lives in the U.S., the chances of her and Harry staying in one spot are slim.
Will Prince Harry and Meghan Markle move to L.A.?
There has been a lot of speculation about Harry and Markle relocating to L.A. The moving rumors increased after the birth of their first child, though the couple has yet to say anything about the reports.
Sources, however, claim that the former Suits star wants to be close to her mom, who would never leave L.A. Markle also wants Archie to have as normal of a life as possible, and living in California would help reach those goals, at least in part. Markle and Harry will never be able to avoid the spotlight, but residing in the states might be easier on them.
There is also the idea that Markle misses living in the U.S. and wants to be closer to her celebrity friends. Markle was raised in L.A. and has a lot of friends in the area. If that is the case, it is possible that Harry and Markle purchase a home in L.A. that will serve as their summer vacation spot.
This would allow Markle to be close to her mom for a good chunk of the year and enable them to still keep up with their royal duties in the U.K. Inside sources claim that Markle has been looking at homes in the Malibu area but has not settled on one yet.
Harry and Meghan come under fire
Aside from the moving rumors, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle recently dealt with a lot of backlash after using private jets to travel. Several media outlets in Britain criticized the couple for using private jets for personal trips, including a recent outing to Spain.
The outrage came around a week after Harry was slammed for jetting off to a climate change summit in Italy. Several celebrities came to the couple’s defense, including Elton John, who clarified that he allowed Harry and Markle to use his jet because of safety concerns.
Some insiders claim that the backlash has reignited Markle’s desire to move to L.A. There is no telling what the couple will end up doing, but it is safe to say that they are happy with Frogmore Cottage — at least for the time being. That could change in the near future, especially if Markle and Harry have more children.
The Sussexes have not commented on the moving rumors. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are currently getting ready to travel to South Africa for an official tour. The trip will mark their first official outing as a family of three.
