Beginning even before they were married, Meghan and Prince Harry were the subjects of some pretty unfair media scrutiny. Their relationship was under the microscope for quite some time, even though the couple expressed their desire for privacy.

After the royal wedding, things should have gotten better, but took a turn for the worse instead. Meghan’s family drama began to dominate the headlines, and the tabloids pretty much hounded the couple relentlessly.

According to BuzzFeed.News, Meghan and Prince Harry are quite upset about the bullying that they have had to deal with, as well as the way they are negatively portrayed in the news. It got to the point where they felt that they had enough, and decided to step back and live a quieter, independent life.

Usually, when someone leaves a position for any reason, they immediately begin thinking about what they are going to do next in terms of generating an income. For Meghan and Prince Harry, this doesn’t seem to be a problem.

As senior royals, they were receiving a nice amount of money from the Sovereign Grant. Now that they are stepping back, that source of funding will be coming to an end.

It doesn’t look like they will have to worry, though. CNBC reports that the couple is in a position to make millions, if not billions of dollars once the split is final. There will be so many lucrative opportunities just waiting for Meghan and Prince Harry, and their net worth is likely going to increase more than anyone expects.
